What do you think about the Naval Acemedy's new position specific helmets?

I think that these uniforms look cool. While I have no idea how money works in big Navy I think it might be a bit excessive getting a new football uniform every year or so. I can see the PR attraction but is this necessary? Ahh, who am I kidding? I just want Under Armour pt gear. Thoughts?
For the first time in NCAA history, a college football team will have its players wearing different helmets during the game based on the position they play.
And no, it's not the Oregon Ducks.
The Navy Midshipmen will be wearing special "Navy Fleet" uniforms for the Army-Navy game on Saturday, Dec. 12, in Philadelphia.
Although the uniforms look sharp, the new look is all about the helmets.
There will be a total of seven different hand-painted helmets worn by Midshipmen players during the game, representing "seven of the historic ships that make up the U.S. Naval Fleet." Each position group will be assigned a specific helmet that will pay tribute to one of the seven ships.

Navy football is one of if not the only profitable service academy sport, so taxpayer money isn't supplying the uniforms and it isn't part of the defense budget. So I'm all for new uniforms :)

Most major college sports teams are paid to wear a certain company's uniforms and get the uniforms for free so this isn't costing anything. Besides that the uniforms and helmets do look cool! I am all for it (even if I am not Navy).

LCDR (Join to see) That's true of most universities, even public ones. Football carries the day for all the other sports.

If the Army was serious about stopping this ridiculous trend of allowing the Navy to win every year, they'd drop all the officers off the team and let the Hardest Hittin NCO Corps in the history of Mankind lead the way. We're DAMN good at taking and holding ground (yards too) and breaking everything in sight, and with our immensely effective E4 Mafia, you wouldn't even realized you lost until the next day. #DUTYFIRSTGOARMYBEATNAVY

PO2 Mark Saffell - It's all good brother. You cannot go to sick call when you loose....you're only authorized by the COB to go to the VA. lol

The "Army" football team is the US Military Academy (USMA) team. Players are Cadets attending the USMA. They are neither Officers or NCOs while students at the USMA. Officer and NCO cadre assigned to the USMA are not students and therefore cannot be players on the "Army" football team.

Sir, this is why the NCO's need to be THE team. Not looking for cheers, goodwill, or medals. We are who you call when it Absolutely, Positively has to be destroyed overnight. It's time to let us WIN the game. We've been nice too long.
