What do you think of Muhammad cartoons on DC Metro ads?

This is news here in the DC region. Pamela Geller, head of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, wants to pay to have the winning cartoon from the Garland, Texas Muhammad cartoon drawing contest on DC Metro ads (at Metro stations and on buses).
What do you think of this idea? Should we be concerned? Or should we be able to "weather this storm"? Is it worth it to take such a chance? Do we anticipate that there will be retaliatory strikes by Islamic fundamentalists if the ads go up? Strikes against innocent citizens?
On one hand, I think Geller has the right to do this, but public safety does come into play. On the other hand, if it were pictures of Jesus (or urinating on a crucifix), people might object, but I doubt there would be worries of bombings or shootings in response.
I was going to post the picture of the proposed ad, but I don't want to offend Muslims, so I'm not doing that. Instead I'm posting the aftermath of the Garland, Texas shootings. I wonder, though, if people would be so considerate if the ad were critical of another religious figure. And I wonder if that says something about the influence of radical Islam (already) in our great country.
What is your opinion on this issue?

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do something.

Are we that stupid, haven't we learned from the past, just because we can do something, doesn't mean we should.

I tend to agree with you, LCpl Mark Lefler, and Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS, but I get the impression that there's something wrong with this thinking, especially among a group of people (us military folks) who fight and must be willing to lay down our lives to defend freedom in our great land. This cartoon is spot-on, in my opinion.

CW5 (Join to see) Nothing wrong with my statement as long as I don't say "Don't do it."
Freedom includes the Freedom to make bad decisions.
I think it's a bad idea, and shouldn't be done, but I won't raise one hand to stop it. I will forcefully suggest that liability insurance be acquired in a very large amount to cover any issues that may arise however.
