What do you think of SPC Garrison's lies, were they PTSD caused or what?

This soldier's years of lies have finally come to light. He's been honored many times and yet still fails to do the honorable thing. In some ways I feel sorry for the guy and maybe with the VA found personality disorders he's got, he really believed what he said. But now he admits he lied and has yet to set the record straight with the family of SGT Wilson.

I don't know the guy and obviously he has some mental issues, but to tell the mother of a fallen Soldier that you were holding him when he died? That is inexcusable and he should man up and apologize to her at least! Disgusting jerk...

I think he is a sick manipulator and I am disgusted that he used the death of a hero to seek pity for himself....I wonder how his own parent feel?
HE IS (without a doubt) trying to play the victim.

I'm not going to judge because I know there are two sides to a door. After saying that I will state: He stated he knowingly put on the CAB when he had no orders to do so. And he has yet to go to SGT. Wilson's mom and make it right. Even if PTSD or what ever caused him to do this, after being told and realizing it, he needs to put things right. I'd even say go as far to offer to return the house to a more deserving vet.

I'm sure that PTSD can make you do some weird things. There is plenty of evidence in the news all the time. Maybe Black Out and Replace Memories, That is well within the realm of Possibility. One of my Favorite Cartoon/Movies is "Waltz With Bashir" about how Israeli Soldiers from the war with Lebanon dealt with their PTSD and sometimes recreated "False Memories" to block the Horror.

I just can't...I would love to say more. I live every day with PTSD and took years figuring out what memories were false and what real and I still just can't accept this. This is why I retired when I did. I saw this kind of soldier in my Army and knew I had to go before I had to deal with something of this complete ignorance. I feel for the famy and I respect that the father could control himself. Other than that if you still support this dirtbag you need to have your head checked.
