Greetings RP!

I am and have been desperately trying to reenlist and get back in the Army since the beginning of 2015.

I served from May 16, 2006 until January 22, 2010.

My last duty assignment was with the 28th Combat Support hospital out of Ft Bragg, NC.

My RE code is 3 I think. I made some minor mistakes while deployed to Iraq. I never had any major disciplinary issues. Was always proficient in my MOS as well as physically fit and an overall good soldier. I have learned from my mistakes and am ready to serve our country as a career soldier.

Can anyone here assist a troop in getting back into the greatest army??

PVT Dominique Stewart have you called and asked your local recruiter what the RE code 3 means? That may helps us who are not familiar with the whole recruiting realm.

You'll need a waiver.
Reading the backstory, I'd be pretty surprised you got an RE3 for that unless you had them on a govt computer.

I received an re3 code with an honorable discharge but I received it for misconduct. I like to feel I was given the code and character of service because I was a great soldier. I just don't know my odds of getting a waiver.

i left a couple times due to being immature. i was never a deserter. i always came back and did my punishment with no problems. just was very immature at that time. i am a different man now and want to serve my country like i should have the first time.

The short answer is Yes. But it depends on the "Why". For example, if you were put out for overweight, then you must meet height/weight standards. If you go out for hardship, you have to prove that hardship no longer exist. If it was legal reasons, well, that might be a different story. I'd go and talk to the recruiter. Also, the branch may say that right now "no" waivers, check back every so often, requirement change based on the needs of the military. Also, check back during September/October; October is the end of the recruiting year. I was an Army Recruiter for over 12 years.

I personally would not rely on someone else mailing docs on my behalf. Take care of that yourself. Second, if you're looking for a change of character just make sure you have documentation of everything to justify the change. Get with the VFW or groups like that sometimes they have very resources and help.

Each RE-3* means something different depending on which service you were in. Your best bet is to contact a prior service recruiter and find out if it is waiver-able.

Im no lawyer (and perhaps you should speak with one that takes on military related cases), but it sounds as if the Failure to Adapt discharge was unwarranted. I would say you have a case for an appeal

Sorry to give you bad news but, he I using you as number to show some activity on R-tools for his LPO. FailUre to adapt is looke as a physiological disorder and will never be approved. You would do better to try the army again. Best of luck to you.
