Respect For The Rank.
Nothing Else, As One Never Truly Knows
What Goes On Under That Hat Or The Brass.
That's When The Rest Of It Comes Into Play.
The Honor, The Individual Respect, The Leadership Abilities,
And Of Course, Whether Or Not, He's Experienced Enough To Reach
Your Level Of Expectations Of An Officer.

A College Degree Doesn't Necessarily Mean:
"They're Educated."

I didn't care much for saluting, but I did it, of course.

Simply put, respect for authority and leadership. Humility and integrity within yourself to believe in and follow those in authority.

Saluting is a way to acknowledge the feelings of respect that you have for those that are going to lead you

Honoring others who are walking with me, near me or who have walked there before. Honoring, Respect and loyalty. A Symbol of trust & gratitude. Together we are mighty, when we hold honor and respect for each other. Respect for superiors.
I also salute the fallen in absolute respect, for their strength. In honor.

Hi Bro. Good Morning or Afternoon. Are you the decision maker? Bottom Line: Recognizing that a "zero" in on station, in the area, or passing by.

Showing courtesy and respect to another servicemember of higher rank. It also gives snipers an idea of who to shoot at.

It has nothing to do with respecting the individual and but everythig to do with customs and courtesies and repsct for our rank stucture and leadership. When a salute is rendered and returned it is a custom that has been around as long as we have had militaries. It is one of those "little" things that makes us unique. It provides for a rank structure and respect for that structure. It is there for a reason. When we can't get thelittle things right how can we get the big things right.

Saluting means a privilege that our civilian citizens, who never served, do not get to do.

Prisoners do not get to salute.

A salute is a privilege.

We don't have to salute we GET to salute.
