I earned it while I was Navy, and have been told by several friends who are prior Navy that I can wear it (they do, with permission), and I'm trying to figure out where it should go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated (as a caveat, I have read AR 670-1 backwards and forwards and it doesn't specifically mention my badge).

EDIT: While I've gotten some good info about whether or not I can wear the badge, no one has really answered which group it would fall into. I know basically where it will go on the uniform (left side, probably above ribbons or name tapes), but I want to know for sure, especially in relation to other badges.

I got this form wikipedia:
Special Skill Group 1: Combat Infantryman Badge, Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge
Special Skill Group 2: Combat Medical Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge
Special Skill Group 3: Army Astronaut Badge, Army Aviator Badge, Army Flight Surgeon Badge, Army Aviation Badge, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge
Special Skill Group 4: Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Military Freefall Parachutist Badge, Space Operations Badge, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Sapper Tab, Jungle Expert Tab
Special Skill Group 5: Diver Badges, Special Operations Diver Badges, Driver and Mechanic Badges, Parachute Rigger Badge
followed by the Marksmanship Badges

I figure it would probably fall under group 3 or 4, but haven't found any guidance on this...

(Of course, none of this really matters for MY uniform, because I'm too old for any special schools. There's only one place my Dolphins will go: above my ribbons or medals.)

similar to an infantryman's badge, left side, secondary qualification, with permission. write a point paper and submit it to the Sergeant Major of the Army for inclusion into the AR-670-1 update. the Blue to Green initiative probably grabbed a few bubbleheads and targets with previous quals. May be possible to only wear in "Class-A/Blues"

I've seen it on ACU's (even though it looks funky, lol)... Thanks for the info!

See AR 670-1 Ch 22 para 22–12g(2)(3)

(2) Skill badges awarded by other U.S. Services that are not similar to Army skill badges are worn as group 4 badges."

(3) Badges from other U.S. Services that indicate career fields are not authorized for wear (such as U.S. Air Force medical insignia or badges used to identify the duty, function, or classification of the wearer). Some examples are U.S. Air Force fire protection, air training command instructor, security police, or the Naval aviation warfare specialist

The question is, does the Navy's Enlisted Submarine Warfare Qualification badge a skill or career field badge?

It's closer to a skill badge from the Army like the EIB or EFMB than to a career field badge from the Air Force like the Command and Control badge or Maintenance & Munitions badge. It's different in that while all Infantry MOS's have the option to qualify with the EIB, all Submarine ratings MUST qualify.

Then my best educated guess would be that its a group 4 badge

I'm certain your dolphins fall under the same category as my EAWS wings. I was disappointed to find out I couldn't wear them when I crossed over to the green.
