What happens when it's time to turn your gear in to CIF, and you are missing some items that you signed for?

I know I will have to pay for the missing items obviously, but will they take it out of my paycheck? Because I can't afford to pay for it all upfront. I'm not missing a lot of items, but the items I am missing are really expensive.

If you are PCSing, just tell CIF that it was packed in your house hold goods and they will transfer it to your next duty station and that gives you more time to purchase the items from surplus stores. If you are ETSing, then id go buy everything possible from surplus stores and then see what's left.

You pay for it. Either you go find it, army Navy surplus or statement of charges.

Statement of charges. You won’t be able to clear unless it is stamped by finance

Ask a buddy if they have an extra. A lot of guys have tactically acquired gear through the years lol.

Buy them, fill out a statement of charges and pay for it, or initiate a FLIPL with your company supply room

When I ETSd, I made damn sure I had all of my TA-50. CIF has no mercy! SOMETIMES Army Navy surplus stores MAY OR MAY NOT, have certain expensive items. Good luck!

You can usually find stuff cheap at the surplus store or the pawnshop. If not they'll take it from your pay with a statement of charges. From what you've said, you're not missing much. Even if you can't buy them, you won't be charged too much. See if a buddy has extra gear.

The first time I PCS'd I was short a couple items (including a pair of leather work gloves that should have been considered expendable, but that's a tale for another day). I was able to make deals for a few items and one guy gave me an extra he had no use for, so I only had to do a Statement of Charges for one or two things and I paid for it up front.
Check with buddies; I always had a stash of extra gear for stuff anybody was missing during inspections, clearing CIF, etc. There's also surplus stores, pawn shops, eBay, etc. Especially around military posts, pawn shops usually have a decent stock of hocked TA-50.

CIF will remove your soul if you do not have the gear. And it better be in better condition than when you received it. I hate CIF. It was so much better when the BN controlled gear.

Likely all at once. They can only take so much per check but I doubt an OCIE item will hit the cap.

You'll pay from that final out pay. As already states, go to the surplus store and buy it cheaper. Alternatively, eBay might also help you. What kind of stuff are you missing?

That's not too bad at all for missing stuff. When I ETSd I had to pay for a set of DAPS that I lent to a buddy. You should be able to find those cheaply. If you're in Fairbanks hit up 2 dice pawn shop, they have a back room in addition to their regular surplus area.
