Best job in the military. I don't know how the deployments are right now but normally a pretty high ops tempo. Plenty of work when you're not deployed. Since we support the US Secret Service there are always TDYs (TADs for you guys). With the election coming up they will be gone for every campaign stop for POTUS and the other party delegate. You need to be a beast to wear the 80lb bomb suit and deal with the heat but it's all worth it.
Good luck with the Army and your new MOS choice.

Did you ever make it through the school? I'm waiting on a school date now. I'm pumped for the opportunity

I am currently an Active Duty Army EOD technician. The op tempo for most conventional EOD units is a little slow at the moment. I suggest that if you come into the Army and make it through EOD school that you stay motivated and try to make it to a unit a little more specialized within the EOD community, there your chances of deployment are much higher, Hope this helps.
