I once had a board question for soldier of the year and it went as a two part question. What is in the truk? and what is at the base of the truk pole on main post HQ?

I read in the study guide, have forgotten some items, that there was a razor, match, bullet, ........, ........... .

Depending on the age of the post I heard that there is a 38, 1911, or an M-9.

Have never knocked one over to see, so what is the general consensus as a discussion piece.

Nothing. It's an urban legend.

So, based on my recollection, the truk is the ball at the top of the flagpole, that holds the rounds for the handgun (think something like 3 rounds?). There is normally a memorial at the base of the flagpole that would actually be a box that contains the razor, match (to cut the star field off the flag prior to being burned), the handgun to protect and make a last stand. Not sure if there was anything else... I strongly doubt that many (if any) bases actually do this....but fun trivia question anyway!
