So recently I've been flagged for multiple Failures To Report, as a result UCMJ is pending. I have accepted the consequences of my actions and am prepared to face them. I just wanted to know the extent of the article seeing as I'm still in AIT and haven't reported to my first unit yet. (No pun intended between the Failure to report and me not reporting to my unit. The FTR's are to formation) Help?

If you were in the Air Force, an Article 15 is almost a career ender. From what I hear, it's very situational in the Army.

Loss of rank, pay, and extra duty. It blows big time.

For you, I would consider the "Failure to Adapt" chapter.

Late response, but I'm sure you've already been told, that at this point, you just don't get what the military is about. You need to pack your bags, and find a job where you can show up when you feel like it. Probably one of those work from home jobs.

I've been out just over 34 years, and I'm STILL 15 minutes early for every appointment or work shift. You want to be a soldier/sailor/airman/Marine? Here's the rule---IF YOU'RE 15 MIN EARLY YOU STILL ARE LATE. DO it or put in a request for discharge, you'll never fit in.

IT IS THE SAME THING. Don't they teach the UCMJ in Boot Camp anymore?

Yeah, I was in boot camp 45 years ago so, forgive me if I've forgotten some of the thing written in the UCMJ.

Although you are in training still this is still your unit for now. You are accountable to them until you move on...you are just in training status (of course). The extent is up to the Commanders discretion. every Art 15 is a case by case.

Listen to all the advice from the Officers, I was hit with a similar situation while going thru my MOS school, eventually I threw my self at the mercy of the Staff NCO who filed the charges, ended up placed on academic probation until I graduated. After that those charges were dismissed and the documentation destroyed

Go see the Judge Advocate General. You can still seek legal advice for non-judicial punishment.
