Right man, Right time, Right place. Our country has being moving backwards the last eight years. President Obama on a world tour apologizing for American greatness. Reduced our military so their was no relief. Wheather on a tour of duty anywhere in the world. Or back home in the states. The tempo was fast, no time to regroup or decompress. The Stress carried right over to base housing and homes of our military. During this time of abuse by President Obama and the Democratic party their loyalty was questioned by our military. Not really standing beside them or behind them. Reading Miranda Rights too enemy Fighters, placing their rights above our own troops. Which is wrong. Their are to many examples of disrespect by President Obama and his administration.
So now comes General Mattis. A true American Patriot. A great leader loved by Troops all over the world. He can trun moral around and improve it just by his name. And it's not just his name, his actions showed how much he loves
our military. How he believes in training, and that is also leadership. He will get rid of stupid ROE's. End reading Miranda rights. Putting U.S. military first. The troops will feel the love and respect. Most importantly, when they go to answer the call, putting there lives on the line by charging to the sound of the guns, they know they have a President, Sec of Def and entire country behind them.

Be afraid, be very afraid. A rope walks into a bar says can I have a drink, the bartender says we don't serve ropes, GET LOST! The rope walks into the street jumps in a puddle and tussle his top, walks back into the bar and asks for a drink, the bartender says, aren't you that same rope, the rope says no , I'm a frayed not

I am very happy at the thought of having a true military person at the helm.

The man has a reputation as a "Marine's Marine;" and of taking care of his troops.
I hope that extends to retirees, as well as the active forces, and that he will use his position to bring about changes in SOFA's with Germany and Great Britain, which currently preclude visiting or transient Space-A retirees, from shopping at the exchanges and commissaries in those countries.
Because of his reputation, I am encouraged. But bureaucracies are cumbersome, and changes take time. Therefore, I'm not holding my breath.

My buddy (a "former" Marine) loves the idea, and Mr. Mattis seems a great mix of intelligent and ferocious. I hope he is a great SecDef.

From what I saw on the news tonight, Congress will pass a one time law like they did for Marshall. Also, there was some talk that the law was unconstitutional anyway. CPT Jim Schwebach Maj Bill Smith, Ph.D.
