Dear God, I miss Reagan. I'd rather have his moldering body in the White House than the current occupant.

MAJ Hugo B. Adelson - That is my point Maj, the downsizing actually started under Bush #1, a Republican, they seem to speed up under Clinton, but unlike some people here wanting to blame everything on the Dems, in this case, it was the Right not the Left who started it. As I said in another post a few months ago, I was trained to report the truth as I see it, not what chain wants to hear, but the actual facts as they are presented.
MAJ Hugo B. Adelson
Actually, fact is downsizing never happened due to stop loss and service members ETS put on hold due to Desert Storm. Downsizing into 1992 was to restore end numbers to pre Desert Storm level. Then the major cuts started under the Clinton Administrations

I once made the statement that we could take Ronald Reagan's rotting corpse and prop it up in the oval office and it would be a better president than Barack Obama. I had people tell me but that's disrespectful. I said to who, they said well to both. I said no, Reagan would appreciate it! Lol

PO1 Charles Hannon - Go back and check your history.
1LT Sandy Annala How nice of you to post a photo of a POTUS that was and is still respected by so many Americans!

CSM Charles Hayden Passed 7/29/2025 - Of course - I felt Jack Kennedy also had the stuff of dreams too!!!
But - in those days no one published any distasteful rumors breaking the Arthurian image.
I always dreamed JFK was more than a bit of a ladies man!!! Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

CSM Charles Hayden Passed 7/29/2025 - I had an absolutely mad crush on both presidents. None of the subsequent presidents . . . or presidential candidates . . . ever matched up. In the end, though, I have to say I had far more respect for Ronald and Nancy's forever enduring relationship . . . in the public eye . . . with God's blessings. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

1LT Sandy Annala - Please remember Sandy that JFK WAS a Sailor and we do have a certain reputation to keep.

DesertStorm. I was there with 400th MP POW Camp...... Guarding, processing and returning Iraqi POW's ......
If SGM Kindred has the date correct, this photo was taken only a couple weeks after the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon on October 23, 1983, followed by the invasion of Grenada on October 25th which some say was undertaken to take attention off the loss of 241 US service members.
SSG Edward Joy
The invasion of Grenada was to rescue american citizens trapped in that country. Not for any other purpose.

1LT Sandy Annala - The Umbrella Corporation is a covert, super-secret-squirrel, literally underground scientific research entity owned by the government, and responsible for unleashing a form of zombies. But, they also created a genetically modified soldier to fight them. It comes from the storyline of Resident Evil.
SGT Justin Moore
Reagan is still alive and when we need him most umbrella will release to go back into office next yr hopefully. Lmao
Back in '85 my buddy and I got bored on Mids and decided to call the Whitehouse on the Autobahn line. We got ahold of Nancy's Secretary and we convinced her to send us some autographed pictures. A few months later President Reagan was scheduled to stop at Elmendorf and deliver some remarks. Beforehand, we were interviewed by his security detail as persons of interest. Anyways we were ordered to NOT attend his speech. So of course, the day of the speech we went off duty, went to the MAC Terminal for hard boiled eggs and a six of Rainier. Then off to the speech. We went back to the dorms and had to report to the First Shirt for Letters of Reprimand for disobeying orders...

Autovon.....I used to call my parents and girlfriend from Diego Garcia back in the 80's on that line, mid watch at the airfield control tower radio room. The only other option back then was to pay the Brits for a phone card for their satcom station that damn near used up all of a paycheck
