I once ate a chili mac MRE with jalapeno cheese. The gas produced was able to wake people up from a dead sleep. This count?

LTC (Join to see) - One of them was my squad leader. Everyone else was asleep but me, and I let one go (real silent and violent), and his words were "Livingston, you nasty ass."

MSG (Join to see) - MANY years ago I was on Division staff. Came time for the annual PT test and as fate would have it the Chief of Staff volunteered to hold my feet for the sit-ups... somewhere around the count of thirty I cut loose... I was so embarrassed.

While nothing was said at the time I can imagine his comments later.

That's got to be a first; is it real?

I have seen that photo before, but it was alongside photos like this one:

I don't know what's more dangerous...the A-10 itself or an Airman with a rifle under it. I know the plane can hit targets....the second one, don't know about that. lol

The Romans used to load beehives on Onagers and throw them into advancing heavy infantry to break up their formations. It was used to great effect on the Macedonians.

This dumb-ass idea. Let's put a tactical nuclear warhead inside a depth charge, strap it on a rocket and launch it out of a submarine.

I still can't wrap my head around that SUBROC system. Obviously designed by non-sub sailors... probably by aerospace engineering nutbags...

PO2 Steven Erickson, LTC (Join to see), that seems to this AF type to be the equivalent of a thermonuclear hand grenade.

EXACTLY! Scuttlebutt on the boat was that there was a 60% chance of doing yourself in when using it at less than maximum range. I know that the tactic we practiced was the "over the shoulder shot" - the boat would launch the thing at the target while facing the opposite direction, then dive deep and go to flank speed. When you timed the launch-to-impact, we'd come shallow to minimize the pressure wave from the detonation. Or so we were told...

You're right, Capt Seid Waddell, this is one of those things that meets TWO categories of "close that counts"... hand grenades AND thermonuclear weapons...

34 miles... and a thermobaric over-pressure such as that from a nuclear detonation travels faster and with less loss in water as opposed to air.

For me I can only think of the D-BIED Donkey Born Improvised Explosive Device.

The Arbalest. It was a game changer, but hard to produce in quantity.

I'm trying to remember the common name, but the Native Americans have this plant up in the northwest that their language translates as "Itchy Butt". If you ate the fruit, there were very fine spines in it that did a good cylinder ream job on the way out. It was a good thing to spike a food supply with. It wasn't lethal but there likely were some who wished it was.

I can see this design meeting:

SATAN: OK. Getting hit and killed by a beer truck just isn't ironic enough. Need something more... gruesome. Any ideas?
MINION: What if we take a chariot, put a whole bunch of spikey-pokey things on it. That way, when humans get run over by it, they'll impale themselves and die slowly and painfully, spreading their internal organs all over the battlefield!
SATAN: That's brilliant! I knew you'd come in handy, Dr. Mengele...
