What is USAA doing to protect your credit card number?

I'm just curious other people's experiences. <div><br></div><div>I have two major credit cards. Both have a $30,0000 limit. I have migrated from my original one of the two (my USAA World Card) to my Chase Visa Marriott Reward black card. </div><div><br></div><div>I only use the USAA card at this point for paying my cell bill to keep it active (better for your credit). I didn't use to do this so it is not my cell phone carrier using my credit number.</div><div><br></div><div>I have in the last four years had my USAA card number stolen/used over seven times!!!</div><div><br></div><div>I use my Chase card EVERYWHERE. We use our CC for EVERYTHING, and pay it off later (to get the points). I've used my Chase card internationally in some shadier places, as well as online, online bill pays, etc.</div><div><br></div><div>Perhaps this is isolated but I have never had any other card in 17 years stolen AT ALL. But yet in the last four years, almost twice per year, my USAA card is stolen and used. Despite in the last two years it being locked up in a safe.</div><div><br></div><div>Is this isolated or have you experienced something similar? I am currently on hold with USAA right now. I will never use this card again in my life, it's too much of a hassle.</div>

I use USAA as well and have never had this issue. I just want to point out that I don't think it is USAA that poses this problem. I understand that it has been locked up for 2 years, but once it has been used even one time, the information is out there. It has the potential to be sold to thousands of people that want to do you harm. USAA will make it right I'm sure and will continue doing all they can do.

I got you, but then why no issue with any other card I've ever had in my entire life? I'm suspect of that. And I have had/have lots of cards.
I forgot to mention my wife has had hers come up with issues three times as well in the same time span.
Zero issues with my Chase card, even in third world countries.

Bad luck? It only takes one time, and apparently that one time hit your USAA card and compromised it.

A lot of people target military members. USAA only has mitary affiliated members. As sad as that may sound it is what I truly believe.

Hate to hear stories like this... I feel for you. I've been with USAA for years and have only had one issue with a credit card being used (not by me). For a bad experience, they made it as painless as possible. Closed the account, credited the charge back to me, opened a new account and fed-ex overnight the new card to me. No problems since. Hope you get it resolved quickly.
