We have a Battalion Ball tomorrow. I know many of you have been to all kinds of military formals. What are your most memorable moments? Those very honorable and professional moments? Those embarrassing moments, maybe the Commander's spouse getting a little too crazy? You and your battle buddies doing some outrageous things? This is all for fun.
Hopefully they do not involve experiences like the attached meme...this was part of a briefing to all Soldiers to make sure their dates dressed appropriately.

To add a little class to this whole thing: My most memorable ball was the "Father-Daughter" ball that I took my youngest daughter (she was 16) to in 2012. I normally hate these things, but she was the most beautiful daughter there, and I actually enjoyed embarrassing her (a little)... :)

This is classy. Well done, SFC.
My most memorable events were when my brigade DCO bought myself and this captain a shot of vodka.
Later that night, I lost my ruby red heels and somehow ended up wearing some random black flip flops, left my date because apparently I didn't think he danced well enough. I found myself walking down the street in my little black cocktail dress to the local country bar, where I ended up trying to teach my drunken, snobby, California surfer-dude OIC how to two-step.
BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!

The ball following my first deployment after being away from my Soldiers and being able to see them again.
Few things here...
My wife (bless her heart; that's what you southerners say, right?) had a STELLAR night.
1. She asked this guy (pictured) what that medal was for...Olympic Medal? (Oy vey!)
2. After a nice conversation (after I explained what the medal was), she asked if she could switch dinners with him because they brought her chicken instead of steak...he got steak and wanted chicken (they switched).
3. My wife recorded the Fife & Drum Corps' (FDC) entrance and put her phone down...as the prayer started, he phone started replaying the FDC's entrance...LOUD! (We were sitting next to the head table...what a night!)

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel
That is one big guy. How the hell did the enemy miss him. He must have scared the hell out of them with his size.
