RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

Two nicknames; Otis and Widget. On a cadet trans-Atlantic crossing aboard CGC Eagle we had only two 16mm movies; Animal House and Jungle Book. The same two movies were shown everyday for about three weeks. We use to turn the sound off and speak the lines. I used to say, "Otis, my man". So, my friends started calling me Otis. Plus I use to listen to Otis Redding a lot.
The second name, Widget, came about when I became Weapons Officer and I spent the most time in the engine room than any other deck officer. Along with varied collateral duties, I was involved in many aspects of the ship.

Mine was Sparky. Probably because of my sweet disposition LOL. Mainly because in my younger years, it didn't take me much to set me off. As the years passed, it would build up and then let loose on the one that topped it off. Oh and I was quick to change the rooms mood. Usually for the better. Road name is Popeye though!

As a female I was a weight lifter in the Navy so they called me , RAM KITTY a version of Rambo the movie. I managed to be top female athlete and runner up for two years. I learned I had the status at a fitness test but I had no idea at the time they tracked that. I just loved working out.

When I first arrived in the field with my unit in Vietnam I was immediately tagged with the nickname "Tiny"--no doubt for the same reason bald men are nicknamed "Curly." . . .
