Does anyone have any additional information on Counterintelligence agents? Like whats the day to day like? deployments? ect.. I’m looking into switching my MOS, I’m currently 11B. I feel like 11B just isn’t for me I know I can do more, I’m just not very interested in being an 11B. I’m currently deployed so I’ve got a ton of time to look into different opportunities and options, would love some feedback.

ETS'd in the late 90's, suo thing may have changed. But to be blunt... best job in the military!

I was a 97b, after 'Nam, it was BI's and security inspections. Eventually, I was assigned to an ASA Field Station where I found myself conducting investigations into what should have been conducted by Provost Marshall/MP types. I was NOT a happy camper, and requested reassignment back to my secondary MOS of 96b. I was happy to return home and do analytical reports concerning hostile nations/threats! Live and learn......

I'm just getting on now. Are you still thinking of reclassifying your MOS to 97B?

I was separated from the Army JAN 1970. Things have changed greatly in that time including the MOS designation from 97B To 35L. My job was atypical for a Counterintelligence Special Agent in my era.
Myself and eight other members were recruited directly from our class to work for the Army General Staff, specifically the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence. I spent two and half years analyzing intelligence reports from Army and other military and federal agencies. The analysis resulting in intelligence estimates distributed to military offices and federal agencies, occasionally to the highest levels of the federal government.. Some analysis would be presented as a briefing. All reports and briefings were classified at some level.
in my office, enlisted, commissioned officers and DA civilians were on an equal basis regarding professional responsibility and respect. All were Action Officers in their respective areas of expertise and worked mostly independently. Liaison was carried out with counterparts in some the same offices and agencies that received the analysis.
Here are some links that may answer your questions, some being redundant.

SPC (Join to see) In the Navy those Duties are Performed by Civilians within the DON Not Uniformed Members. Mostly Conducting Investigations as Part of Background Investigations, Debriefs of Service Members Upon Return from "Problematic" Areas to Learn of any Attempts by Others to Recruit Servicemembers for Espionage Against the US or as Terrorist. Informing the Rest of the Community of Specific Threats in the Realm of Intelligence and Terrorism. Does that Help?
