Don't be afraid to really delegate, or to make sure that what your subordinates understand matches what you meant to tell them.

Don't be afraid to make a decision. Being indecisive or not making a decision is the same as Deciding to do nothing. Think through your options, use the people around you for information/input, and then make your informed decision. Too many times we'd be under pressure and it would lead to an inability to decide a course of action, and I feel that this was one of the best lessons I picked up at OCS.

OCS changed my life. The leadership lessons, field lessons and learning to speak to large groups of people are skills that I still use today. Confidence and the ability to solve problems are things that I didn't know i possessed. I'm very grateful for having the experience of OCS training all those years ago.

There was so many powerful lessons learned at OCS. It really is a wonderful program for showing you your weaknesses and giving you an opportunity to address them. The best lesson would have to be standing in front of a group of people and making a decision under extreme pressure. It is something that has to be experienced to be fully understood.
