There are a ton of great songs about military life, that reference the military in some way; some of the more modern works may have a video associated with it, and some of the older classics continue to define the military experience to this day. From country to rock, ballads & pop, to more traditional flavors--did a particular song inspire, educate, or simply strike a chord with you? Please feel free to share any inspiring military-related music, any music or songs that makes you think of/or reminds you of your military service, as well as any links, photos, descriptions or anything that helps you tell your story. The idea here is to have a fun and thought provoking discussion, which will be fun, informative, and provide a means to tell our stories... and to learn about one another as well as our sister services in the process. Wishing you all the best, I look forward to hearing from you, and interacting with you all in the threads!

This is a newer song, and less known because it is from a Christian band called "Avalon". The song is called "For Freedom". Here's a link to a video someone did with the song :)

Hmmmm, so many come to mind. Strange Brew by Cream. Because it has been quite an eclectic mix of personalities, experiences and feelings over the past 24 years for me.

As much as I hate to admit it being a Soldier for going on 25 years, I absolutely love the Marine Corps Hymn. It just resonates.

I used to think that American Soldier by Toby Keith was good until he told youtube to take my personal video of photos down several years ago. It was only of me, people I deployed with and a few of the iraqi country side and other activities. So screw him. But their are so many good ones out there, but the 8th of November by Big and Rich I like as this song was inspired by a soldier they met who served in vietnam.
