I can remember when the USCG did the very same in their radio advertisements in the late 90's as a recruiting tool. "We in the Coast Guard, Baby". If you're gonna use rap and street music, at least pick good stuff, not that over-the-top corny BS. It was the only time I embarrassed to say I was in the CG.

As long as it is tasteful in nature and not offensive (cliche I know) I see now reason why not. It’s some attempt at connecting with your target audience and that’s always good business practice.

it depends on the content for me personally, there is great rap, trash rap and just down right crap rap. However it is a means to an end to get soldiers in boots, the Army is very efficient and using whatever tool to get new recruits. It's like calling a gun bad because it kills people. A gun is neither good or bad it's a tool, it's the user that you have to decide is honorable or not.

We have used every genera of music to recruit throughout the years as far back as WWI. Whatever gets the message out to the youth of The US encouraging them to serve with honor and destination works for me and should work for everyone.

One of the greatest military songs ever written was done so in country, I own the music but am not a huge country fan. It is a great song, “I’m proud to be an American”. I only wish Zeppelin had sone one, “And she’s buying a stairway to heaven”.

Do not care. Drill Sargeant let us know we were all green, had a purpose and a mission.

None. Of course, blacks wouldn't probably care for 50s country music either. (And neither do I)

Going as low as they can go if they have to get Rap music out on Social Media, commercials and the such. Rap music plain stinks to high heaven and in no way is it considered to be music. It's a person talking with music being played in the background or not. Rather get bit by a copperhead as to have to listen to the junk.
