I'm scheduled to go ALC at Ft. Lee, VA 3 Jan 2021. The problem is I still don't have orders, my DTS is stuck at level 15, and my entire COC is on leave. My readiness and training NCOs are aware of the situation and are trying to get me square. My plane ticket is purchased should go and just let my unit figure it while I'm there?

Your leadership at some level is present. Call up instead of across. Contact the Battalion and BDE if necessary. Never travel without orders unless you have something in writing.

Absolutely, just because they're on leave doesn't mean they shirk their responsibilities

just be aware that if you do go and they don't get it figured out, you will not get reimbursed for anything. I make it a practice to never go anywhere without an approved DTS.

As a person that is currently 18 months deep in my wait for reimbursement.... I would not go until it was squared away, but that is just me.

What should I do if I'm scheduled for ALC in one week, but do not have my orders, my DTS is stuck at level 15, and my entire COC is on leave?

How is the flight purchased if your DTS is still pending?
If your DTS was approved, ticketed, and what you are seeing now is a CTO amendment in DTS, you travel.
And your unit failed you, the time to publish orders for this ALC was the day it rolled reserve.
If you bought the tickets yourself because you didn't want to wait for DTS approval, roll the dice and see what happens.

Short answer:
If you are MDAY, and you don't have a DTS auth approved (travel order) or a VOCO from your G3 (the O6 G3 for your state) then you don't travel.

I reread the post...I wonder if the OP paid with civ or gov CC. In which case, no orders, no dice

I’m seeing the comments. I do agree don’t travel without orders. On the flip side if you need the 4187. I hope you can recount your steps to make sure that you didn’t drop the ball at any point. I want to believe that if you’re good on your end and you don’t fly. That any repercussions will be handled accordingly.

You dont really have a choice. A no show will result in a HQDA bar and will require a 4187 signed by a GO to reschedule.

CW2 Jarod Chesser you are right on all counts sir. However, our young NCO could argue that the ATRRS reservation created by NCOPDS branch of HRC has said what his place of duty will be.
While leadership should have had better oversight, our NCO is supposed to be a SSG soon and should have done what needed to be done. Which includes factoring in nobody is at work to approve DTS authorizations during Christmas leave.

Reserve and NG are NOT the same as Active, we cannot just buy a plane ticket and show up hoping everything will buff out later. Soldiers should not be traveling without orders. There are a lot of liabilities. If (NG/RC) injured in route without orders it will not be covered by the military.
Someone in the chain of command is on duty and even if they aren't, commanders should be reachable. Keep pressing today. Someone at some level is able to click a button. Unfortunately it has to happen today given the timeline.

You have a valid ATTRS slot so you need to report regardless of your DTS status. Your DTS Managers will fix your orders when they come off of block leave. If you fail to report you will be a no show and delay your promotion to SSG.

SGT (Join to see) If no local COC is available, do as another has suggested - call up the chain. On the eve of a holiday it's going to be tough, and you may wind up at the state level. Contacting Ft Lee to advise of your situation may also be advisable. Keep a record. Good luck, and Happy New Year tomorrow.
