What should I expect to learn or know when re-classing to 35F?

I was recently transferred into a new unit in my BN and put in a 35F slot. I am shifting from Electronic Warfare. I'm just curious what I should expect not only with the MOS, but with the school and the course content for when I have to go to MOSQ.
Are there any advantages or disadvantages in the different school houses? Is there anything I should be ready for as an E6 going into an MOSQ?

Pay attention to the AIT portion. They will reevaluate you on many of the same classes when you go through the ALC portion

Will I be able to PCS to this AIT? Since I have a family I’m not sure how that would work

PFC (Join to see) - I'm not sure, AD is a whole different animal. Ask your unit admin or call the schoolhouse they will be able to give you much better info than I can. My school was only 6 weeks after the DL phase. Best of luck. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

I will be reclassing to a 35F as a reservist . The class is 4-5 weeks long. Does this mean they will cram the 16 weeks version into 4.

SFC Mario DeRogatis - I am back, sorry don't visit RP as often as I used to. Phase 1 was a bear, I'll be honest. The biggest thing I can say is just to get through it as best you can. Where are you going to MOSQ? I went to Camp Williams in Utah. Each Phase, of with there are 3 for the resident portion are 2 weeks long. There is a lot of info that they give to you, but there are plenty of opportunities for questions to be answered and even study hall if you so desire. The Instructors at the schoolhouse do an amazing job in making sure you understand the info and also do their best to keep the mood light to ease the learning process. Just go into it with an open mind and attentive ears and you will do just fine. The course is not designed to let you stumble or fail.
The last piece of advise I can give you is to try to retain as much as you can from the DL portion and also talk to other 35F's in your unit to get an idea of the processes they use. Keep in mind that each Company, BN, BDE, and the like use different methods based on the Commander intent, so just look at it from a broad angle. I seriously doubt that you will have any issues, but if you do, don't hesitate to reach out. Lastly, to make your life easy, make sure your clearance is all squared away before getting to the schoolhouse!
Let me know where you end up going!

SFC Mario DeRogatis
Glad to have you back. I finished the DL part and you're right a bear of a course. Good eye opener. I am currently working on the brief and paper prerequisite; very unfamiliar ground for me. We only have a handful of 35's as my new unit is not MI, so most of them were in training years ago. Waiting on my interim to get approved and have planned on going in April to Ft. Huachuca, but that could change depending on how much longer the clearance takes. Thanks for the info though, much appreciated.

SFC Mario DeRogatis - Don't get too hung up on the paper....the whole direction of my paper and brief changed on like day 2, so we had a week to finish it up. I never got my interim, but it took a little over a year to get my full clearance. Keep on your Security Manager to give you updates. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

So for MOS-T reclass, the class is split up into phases? I'm hearing different things. Mostly that it's 16 weeks straight, even for reclass soldiers.
