Allow me to introduce a new one: Communications
Generally, all belligerents have the same weaponry. Some may enjoy a momentary advantage if their's arrives on the battlefield first, but if an innovation is effective, it is quickly copied.
Generally, all belligerents have good leaders and bad, and even bad leaders have won battles. (As Napoleon famously said, he was more concerned that his commanders were lucky.)
Generally, air superiority is a desirable thing, however, it has never been decisive.
An advantage in communications/command and control has always been decisive.

We could still improve on our communication skills but agreed that it is a must have.

CPT Jack Durish excellent point. Communications is the key to any battle, and any war.

I like them both, but they have two different flavors. Texas Pete is my favorite. I do agree that Hot Sauce has kept many service members from starvation over the years!
In the Navy we used to all have our own large bottle of hot sauce for chow...it went on every meal. I even saw a kid who put some in a spray bottle. He was influenced by an episode of Fresh Prince LOL

I was on my phone last night so I wasn't able to easily get into a more detailed defense of my suggestion that the stirrup should be on that list. What I was getting at was that yes you are right MAJ (Join to see) that the Huns, Mongols, and Native Americans did fine without stirrups but they didn't have Cavalry. The Natives and Mongols had mounted archers. I'm not sure but I though the Huns just mainly used horses for transportation. The stirrup gave us the mounted heavy Cavalry. The armored Knight, the US 7th Cavalry! The horse mounted Cavalry has been an important part of the battlefield and indelibly changed the way war was conducted from the moment somebody realized they could carry a heavy stick with a pointy end as long as they used a stirrup.

I am actually going to try and back up PO3 (Join to see) with some History. In 732 AD a force of Muslims came out of Spain into France. They were met in France by the Franks at Tours. So became the Battle of Tours. Charles Martel, who led the Frankish conglomerate had two great innovations for his army. the Horse Shoe, and the Stirrup. Up until this point the Muslim armys had not been defeated, but in the next 5 days I believe, Martel and the Franks beat the Muslims for the first time. So yes, the Stirrup should get a spot up there, because for the next 1200 years the stirrup becomes a SOP on every Calvary unit created.

Thank you MSgt Robert Pellam well said sir. I knew with some digging I could prove that, but you just did. It was a huge, huge innovation in military technology.
