WWI started in an eerily/similar fashion to this...what will the impact be of the murder of the Russian Ambassador? How will this impact our POTUS? How does this impact the POTUS transition?

Just one more bump in the road. Russia has been fighting terrorists for quite some time now, and they are giving more grief than they are getting.

We're not a player in the incident. The Russians have already accepted that the Turks were not responsible. However, this dog won't lie. Someone won't make it through the night.

I agree, but there are questions on whether some three-letter organizations were involved or not...

CSM Michael J. Uhlig Let's hope that Russia doesn't want to get bombed back into the stone age over something like this when there are terroist attacks going on throughout the world in many different countries. Putin is a little smarter that that - I don't think he would start aggressive actions against a NATO Country (even if they are screwed up)! Just my 2 cents.

My thoughts is that he believes he has a four-week window of opportunity still available to him to act without impunity

What will the murder of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey mean to our relationships in the area?

The world didn't give a crap when our ambassador was murdered. I doubt they'll give much more about the Russian.

Might be because we provided a weak ass response to the attack and murder of our Ambassador, something along the lines of......appologizing for a video

CSM Michael J. Uhlig - No argument here, CSM. My guess is that whoever put that guy up to it (killing the Russian) is going to learn that Putin isn't nearly so whimsical as Obummer.

If Obama can keep his mouth shut and not get macho with the Russians.......I suspect there are terrorists that are fixing to have a really bad day. Something we should do too.

It would be a stretch for Russia to try and implicate the US in this killing. It was a Turkish citizen plus he yelled "Allah Akbar" as he shot. Sounds like a lone wolf ISIS person to me. No doubt, the cold war isn't cold anymore but this should not add fuel to the fire.
No impact to POTUS or our President Elect.

Increased security for our diplomats will no doubt have already been initiated CSM Michael J. Uhlig. I don't expect the assassination of the Russian ambassador will directly affect our POTUS transition. Our current POTUS will no doubt send condolences to Russia.
If the alliance that existed in WWI existed today, this would potentially initiate WWIII

But sir Turkey is a NATO ally. I have said for years that Turkey should be expelled from NATO, because they are openly hostile to some US allies. They also don't meet the minimum defense spending criteria to be a member.

I Feel this was an attempt to destabilize the area/region this Looks Like something out of the CIA... KGB/GRU Play book of the 50 & 60's...
With Syria being heavily influenced by Russia and the Turks are not being too well received in the Elimination of ISIS this looks like a move to force someones Hand in to doing something rash...

At this stage its hard to say what, if any, direct impact this will have on us. But who know what direction this will take.
