What would you do if your CSM was ignoring uniform and grooming standards? (CSM Flournoy)

So this CSM from the the 8th MP BDE seems to be out of regulations. From the comments she has been corrected but she claims she is being harassed. I don't even understand how she got to be a CSM at a BDE. What COL out there is letting this happen? In one of the photos she is wearing stilettos in uniform. WTF? What kind of example is this. The worst is from a Facebook user that said:
"This one!!!! Holy **** she was in charge of us in Afghanistan!! I could go on and on about this toxic leader!! Trying to maintain professionalism but this one.....when a CSM so jacked up like this, she was laughing her ass off during our rehearsal of my brothers ceremony after he was killed in Afghanistan, she f***ing yelled at me because I "took too long saying my goodbye " as I'm f***ing crying kneeling in front of it. This post will probably get me in trouble, and ruin the rest of my army career as well as my day and my army experience."
What would you do if you were there? What if you were on command?
What should the Army do about this?

The 8th Theater Sustainment Command CSM will be travelling to the 8th MP BDE to have some one on one time with this CSM. It is amazing as leaders will do when they are being called out. He should have done that a long time ago.

What what I have seen finding out they are all in her pocket. I don't know what she did to gain so much influence but it doesn't seem like anyone is really going to do anything about her.

Glad she was not in the Seabees. Of course it wouldn't have gone that far. I was fierce on the females who served with me. They knew they had better look great the first time or they would be doing fashion shows for a hour. I find this female dispecable. And her chain upper and lower cowardly for not saying something and letting her disgrace the uniform. I'm not in any more but if I am on base or out in town and I see someone out of regs I politely ask them to fix themselves.

As a US Marine we don't use the title CSM (Command Sgt Maj) unsure what the difference is, In my era I have never seen a female Sgt Maj. Most likely as I was in an infantry unit. Sgt Maj's were usually squared away to the max grizzled middle aged men that will rip you a new azz hole for having unshined boots,needing a shave/haircut or an unsat uniform on. With 25-30 years of service minimum he is the man. I once heard our Battalion Sgt Maj tell a Lieutenant to be in his office at 1300 he said "beat me there Lt don't meet me there. Lt replied yes Sgt Maj. By rank the Lt outranks him but the Sgt Maj has the experience & expertise. They are the pinnacle of Marine Corps and or military professionalism. I don't know how this chick got the a Command Sgt Maj whatever that is. Musta spent a lot of time on her knees..ijs Uncle may be a congressman or senator?? I don't see what used to be req'd by this rank..Ijs!!

I don't know how she got there either. But the CSM vs a SGM is really only their position. One is in a Command position like the Battalion SGM vs a staff position like the OPS SGM.

LCpl Darryl Samuel, to answer your question in a different way - A Marine Sergeant Major is the equivalent of an Army Command Sergeant Major; a Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant is the equivalent of an Army Sergeant Major. Though there are a few other differences, this would probably be the best way to describe the ranks.

I was given an LOR for an apparent strand of hair touching my ear, sooooooooooooooo not a big fan when someone in a position of leadership flaunts military conduct. Is our military gone that far downhill in the past decade that pride in not only history but rules that should separate us as the leading military of the world, no longer matter?? Damn shame.

If policies, procedures and regulations don't apply to Command Sergeants Major they don't apply to anybody. There are always a few in every profession who squeak by. They eventually get what they have coming to them, but usually only after they have negatively impacted others. Because we don't have any proof about her alleged actions at the memorial service, other than a post from a WTF moments page, and those have to be taken with a huge grain of salt, we are only left with her obvious violation of grooming standards. She will scream that she is being harassed and discriminated against. I would imagine that the allegations will lead to a 15-6. Hopefully in the end the truth will come out.

CSM, there is plenty of proof she is being harassed between all the different social medias that are covering this event. I don't believe that is fair to her as I posted on Facebook a couple days ago. I'm not justifying what she has or has not done but wrong is wrong no matter how you say it.

I would address the issue in person. Pull her aside, ensure she knows I am making a uniform/appearance correction, and provide her with the regulation (which I am sure she knows) reference. If she were to ignore my correction, I'd go to her next higher CSM. If that failed, I'd go higher. There is no excuse for allowing this to continue without correction. As a Retired CSM, I am appalled at the lack of professionalism represented here. Standards are just that, standards! The NCOs who work for, with, and above her are all responsible for upholding/enforcing the standards, for ALL Soldiers (Enlisted, Warrant, or RLOs), period. No exceptions.
