So this CSM from the the 8th MP BDE seems to be out of regulations. From the comments she has been corrected but she claims she is being harassed. I don't even understand how she got to be a CSM at a BDE. What COL out there is letting this happen? In one of the photos she is wearing stilettos in uniform. WTF? What kind of example is this. The worst is from a Facebook user that said:

"This one!!!! Holy **** she was in charge of us in Afghanistan!! I could go on and on about this toxic leader!! Trying to maintain professionalism but this one.....when a CSM so jacked up like this, she was laughing her ass off during our rehearsal of my brothers ceremony after he was killed in Afghanistan, she f***ing yelled at me because I "took too long saying my goodbye " as I'm f***ing crying kneeling in front of it. This post will probably get me in trouble, and ruin the rest of my army career as well as my day and my army experience."

What would you do if you were there? What if you were on command?

What should the Army do about this?

(Thanks to Army MP WTF Moments and it's followers for the photos.)

**************UPDATE************************
The 8th Theater Sustainment Command CSM will be travelling to the 8th MP BDE to have some one on one time with this CSM. It is amazing as leaders will do when they are being called out. He should have done that a long time ago.

Without being there, I have no idea of the validity of the comments, with the exception of the "Out of Uniform" text. I don't believe high heel shoes are part of the acceptable dress, semi dress, or combat uniform. From the followup comment, it appears someone is addressing some of the subject matters.

Wow, didn't know the Army allowed this. She should be reprimanded for setting a poor example to junior soldiers and for ignoring regulations, while at the same time enforcing them. Poor leadership!

I saw CSM Florney on many occasions and her appearance was disgraceful however, what was worse was her attitude and lack of leadership abilities. She truly is a toxic leader who abused her position. Like many others, I have no idea how she ever got promoted above much more qualified Soldiers other than her gender and race putting her higher on the list for promotion than her peers.

On it goes. One supported her on RP and she stated "Had them same shoes" she voted my comment down, down. Thank you for standing firm.

I'd love to know where this goes in the end. In my opinion its not a simple matter of a mistake, as you can see from the recurrence. A lot of the other examples of other leadership mistakes in this feed are quite obviously just that, mistakes. In 12 years as a leader I've made dozens of mistakes, more at the junior level certainly, but I still make them. When they are pointed out I correct them and thank and apologize to the person who pointed it out. Leaders are not perfect but they should be personally and professionally embarrassed when they have to be corrected, and that's fine. CSMs however, are the standard bearers for their units. Sadly, in my time I have seen a fair number of toxic CSMs. Not as many as toxic officers, but the screening process for CSMs is higher than every officer rank prior to LTC, so there is a lot of room for toxic junior officers. Either way its ridiculous and needs to be corrected. If she can't handle the correction she needs to go. I could be wrong but failure to follow a regulation and failure to follow an order are still in the UCMJ. Maybe that's what it will take to fix her before she is asked to retire. I'd love to see that article-15.

Sounds like someone got promoted out of political correctness. Attitude and behavior go with the rank, and if you can't be the positive example you are supposed to be then you don't deserve the rank.

Being in the Cav. We took pride in our standards, of our uniforms and grooming, we would be out in the field for weeks and not look that ate up from the ground up.

What would be interesting is.... Where is she at today, and does she remain true to her word of self correction and maintaining the standards? Or was that just for CYA when it was in the publics eye?

I'd like to think it was a slow slide and no senior leader redirection, so it became her "new " standard . But once it was called out , and she was forced to look at her image from others eyes ..she changed her ways...
The related stores of how she interacted with those that attempt to help her see the wrong...however leave me little hope a fellow Sergeant Major did the right thing.
