If you had the opportunity to speak with the New VA Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Doug Collins what would you ask him or what would you like to say to him? Please keep professional.

Thank you,

How do you get cataract surgery when you can't find anyone to spend a day at the VA hospital with you? Also, how can very low vision Veterans schedule appointments when they can't read the text on a cellphone?

If you’re a Veteran OR active-duty service member who is blind or has low vision, you may be able to get advanced vision care and rehabilitation services through VA to help you live an independent life.

Doug, what I want to say I can’t put on paper because it’s not nice
The VA needs to improve how it deals with veterans and not make them wait forever to get an answer

I fully agree. The VA is so large that communication is only a word.

I have had some discussions with the local VA, and changes were made. I have been requested to move the meetings to face-to-face, probably next week. We will discuss problems with common-sense solutions.

I have more work to do on the link, a platform I will use to communicate.

I would ask him to streamline the Administrative people. The workers (doctors, nurses, lab techs, ...) all try to help and get stuck in "Red Tape". They now PRINT a pre-screen and post-screen multi page document for EVERY appointment.
Had three appointments one day and had three copies of the forms with different locator ID's. Prefer the old way when you check out, "Your next appointment is ... Would you like a printout of that?" Now there is NO choice. They have to print it and YOU have to get rid of it properly as it has personal info on it.

I love the support I have been getting from the staff here. They have been polite and patient. Just administrative problems.

Mike,

I have dedicated my website onlyusa.us to highlighting issues impacting veteran care and benefits, including common sense solutions.

Mike, I would ask the Secretary to visit http://www.onlyusa.us and click on "sign up for updates."

Mike, Let me add: Communications.

Veterans have experience dealing with the VA, both good and bad, but there is no path to communicating with leadership.

So, the VA is left using the leadership that broke the system and asking them to fix problems of which they are not aware.

There are too many examples to include in one comment, which is why I use my website to detail observations with common-sense solutions.

So, I invite the Secretary to visit my website and ask any questions that need clarification... Communications.

And THAT Occurs More Often Than One Might Think.

It Has Happened TWICE ` Maybe 3 Times At Most. ~~ A Returned Call From Our

Subject: Is A Military Veteran Entitled To Care And Supplies, Through ANY Va Facility, Regardless Of Where He Resides?

YES, a military veteran can receive medical products from out-of-state VA facilities, even if they are not living there.
However, the veteran must be eligible for VA care without needing to enroll or be enrolled in VA health care 1. The eligibility for community care is dependent upon a veteran’s individual health care needs or circumstances 1. In most cases, veterans must receive approval from VA prior to obtaining care from a community provider 1. VA staff members generally make all eligibility determinations 1. Please note that VA is not authorized to ship medications or medical/surgical supply items outside of the U.S. or its territories 2. If you’re a veteran who lives overseas, you remain entitled to the benefits and services you earned through your military service. Most VA benefits are payable regardless of your place of residence or nationality 3. If you’re moving outside the U.S., you’ll need to sign up for the Foreign Medical Program. Through this program, VA will pay for certain needed health care services received in foreign countries to treat a service-connected disability or a disability that’s making a service-connected condition worse 4.
I hope this helps!

How Can I have a 100% PTSD rating, while VA is ignoring the Head injury that caused at FT Gordon. It was investigated and given LOD status. Your department owes me 30+ years of Backpay.
