This is really out there -
So if Audie Murphy (I believe he was awarded two Medal of Honor awards) - would you wear a "star" on the MOH, or would you wear a ribbon, and then the Medal?
Just wondering.................

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS
CPO (Join to see) - The MOH is not worn with Stars. It was previously authorized (between 2011 and 2014) to be worn with a V device to denote a second award on Ribbon only. No living person has two, so the point is moot.

Sgt thanks for the heads up on that. I knew there were some double recipients but couldn't find the info for the Navy about the V device.

MAJ Daniel Buchholz
CPO (Join to see) - Anyone else appreciate the irony of a second award being denoted with a V? Since by it's very definition as a combat award it is by default a Valor award?

Consider MAJ Louis Cukela, USMC, who was awarded both the Army, and Navy, Medals of Honor. No one had the nerve to say anything to him about it>

I think the Medal of Honor is the only ribbon / medal that is authorized to wear two separate ribbons because there is no authorized device that denotes two awards. Everything else is bronze oak leaf cluster for an additional award or silver oak leaf cluster denotes 5 of the 1 award. Also bronze star devices are authorized for multiple tours in a certain region.
