Hmmm
I think the real answer is if you have no hand but a few funny responses I thought of
If your coming off Air Force one drinking coffee and want to salute
If you are talkin on your cell phone and smoking while dribbling a basketball in uniform
If you are in the Air Force and you feel waiting with your right hand is prejudicial so you use your stress card to salute leftie
Lol

When you are walking with the guidon not in formation. When an officer passes you, instead of presenting arms with the guidon, you salute with your left hand across your body at name tap level and your index finger should touch the guidon

When walking with guidon, not in formation. The band leader. Both are a modified salute with your left hand crossing your chest touching your right shoulder, palm facing the ground.

SGT Richard H.
There are also a few more, such as a rifle salute with an M-14 (army), M-16 (USMC), both executed the same way...and a couple I've learned since asking the question such as a Boatswain piping someone aboard.
