Don't judge a book by it's cover, because in the end you very well may be the one judged!!!

It's a sad day when you think as a veteran, you might feel obligated to carry a copy of your DD214 in your wallet for moments like this.

I hope the devils command takes appropriate action and I hope this vet gets a formal apology by the devils (I know the police made them apologize in the airport - but i'm sure it wasn't heartfelt) who did this and their unit as well.

We as active duty veterans need to address this with our formations - something needs to be done to prevent incidents like this from happening again.

I wonder if these clowns spent some time in the airport lounge before they confronted this old Marine. I'd article-15 the bunch of them.

I saw this earlier today. All I could think was wow, how easy would it be to step out there and be just DEAD WRONG? Best advice would be to first have conversation, and if still feeling that way, bring it to the authorities. Don't fight and cause a big ruckus.
Now there is a vet, humiliated, and current SMs who are deserved of punishment.
It will get around, I wonder if they will self identify? If they did, there would be a little bit of honor recovered, a little.
Hell, I could be Jack in a few years.....the difference being that he actually was a hero.

Just because someone is in the military does not mean that they are not an asshole. If you are going to accuse someone you should be damn sure that you are right. They should have been prosecuted.

LTC Bink Romanick, you're not a COL anymore, Bink. When you were you look like you set a hell of an example to your men in the area of physical fitness. Tag, you're it.

Because of posers once in awhile a true vet gets the bad end of the stick, those on active duty had better be right or face charges.

I think a public apology is in order, and like one of the earlier respondents said, let the young bucks spend a little time at an American Legion Hall or VFW Post and learn to respect those that paved the way for them.

I was in the Navy and later in the Army. I wear ribbons and medals from both branches and it is hard to tell if they are bogus or not. Keep a true heart and let it go, you will learn when you get older,

I was enlisted first in the Marines, then went into the Army. Two different services, slightly different ribbons. I didn't get "I graduated from boot camp" ribbon. Really? We need a ribbon for That?

It's a shame, those Marines need to understand what honor is all about and act like Marines.
