Was Active for awhile, went reserves and now I want to go back Active. Currently waiting to see if the general will release me but I’m curious if anyone has information on 37F? Would like to obviously go back in with that as my contract but wondering what the selection may be like, how rigorous it may be or what to expect from that field. Asking for people who’ve done this, not the txt book answer, preferably individuals who have done this within the past 3 years. Thank you in advance!

1. After putting your packet together and submitting it there will be a 10-14 day selection process out at camp Mckall, Ft. Bragg, NC. The difficulty of this selection will vary from person to person. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. It can be physically demanding and mentally. You will be tired at times and wish it was over but, as with everything place one foot in front of the other and drive on. I will say that mental exhaustion is a real thing as well. In the end it’s is up to you if you want it bad enough to keep going.
2. At the same time what the cadre are grading for varies. Don’t think just because you were first in every event that you are guaranteed a slot. Be a team player, and pull your own weight plus more. And always stay positive. When I went through had a guy speak multiple languages and get dropped because of his negativity. Don’t be him.
3. Given our job the field will vary. I’ve been with 9th BN for all of my PSYOP time and we do more NTC and JTRC. But again it will vary from unit to unit.
4. Deployments are the same as well. I have conduct three 6 month deployments in the past three years with my company. We work with ODAs, Seals, MARSOC, foreign units and much more.
5. What to expect? Expect to give knowledgeable and well versed guidance to ODA commanders and higher echelons when conducting PSYOP laterally and unilaterally with Partner forces.

Hope this helps and good luck

The school and duty isn’t hard. It’s basically military level marketing. It’s using target audience information to help promote your message to influence them.

SGT Wilson - you might have mentioned the responsibility level is a little different - and sometimes that first targeted audience is whoever your attached to so they understand what your team does. But very well put!!
