PO2 Holly Storer After re-reading your question, seeing the tags you selected, and from your reply to SSG Livingston, I feel maybe you're asking a deeper question? In which case, the contacts I make are mostly through the VA. Here in Sierra Vista, we have a group that meets through one of our VA Satellite Clinics for discussions, support and information. Your VA, DAV, VFW and other local Veterans Service Organizations, as well as the TRICARE office, local clinics and hospitals should be able to give you a listing of groups like these in your local area if there is not a VA Satellite Clinic available. Most of these organizations also have web sites with a plethora of information as well. I've also made a few contacts here on RP that I connect with between group sessions if needed, and the Veterans Crisis Hotline's web page http://www.veteranscrisisline.net/ also has a pretty decent resources tab as well as others for the veteran, Active Duty and for family and friends, or you can call them directly [login to see] . They also have on-line chat and text capabilities. There are many Veterans organizations and sites that have information and directions to programs intended to help disabled veterans find other "like veterans" and support, but you will have to reach out to them. I hope this helps.

Very astute MSgt Curtis Ellis I wouldn't have thought to look at the tags except that you mentioned them. I think I'll look at them on future posts. They do seem to help expand on the thoughts and questions expressed, don't they? Oh, and I agree with your response. After considering the tags, your comment seems even more responsive...

Agree with everyone. VFW, American Legion, or you can search here in RP for local veterans. There is another organization called IAVA, Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America. Their website is IAVA.ORG. You can search there also and join groups like here.

The local VFW or AL and since I'm a DA Civilian, I work with a lot of them. Oh, and I manage the FB page for our local VFW, so I connect there as well.

Do you know of any organizations that have programs intended to help disabled veterans find friends and support?

VFW, American Legion, DAV, Special Forces Association, Special Operations Association, Vietnam Veterans of America Association, IAVA, Vet Center, VA Hospital or Clinic. A good Google search might help also. PO2 Holly Storer Good Luck:-)
