We are and always have been our own worst enemy. Just like the saying says. How many times have you heard "you are your own worst enemy". So true words are We Americans!

None of the listed. Our biggest "enemies" are those that call us "friends" in public, take our money, politicians, and use both to influence their will in our country. If we look at it that way, a lot of folks would be astonished that our "allies" can be worse than any militant out there. The "Ally" will be there longer, and have much more pull than the person who just "kills for sport" and moves on. This is like the old saying" I'd much rather have a man who doesn't like me and tells me he doesn't like me for whatever, than to have that same man living next door, telling me how awesome I am, as he plots against me and I never see it coming".

I agree, I do not fear an enemy we can invade. The "terror war" is not something our military or political leaders seem to be ready to engage.

The future of the Army is not in one of these places but all of these places. To prioritize one conflict is asking to be left flat footed for another, that's one of the biggest lessons of the last ten years. Our biggest threat is our unwillingness to let go of COIN and learn a new doctrine for a changing world.

They are definitely willing to go much further to the extremes in action than our population will currently allow our troops. Americans have not experienced true warfare in so long they are not willing to let loose the dogs of war to protect what they love.

I feel Russia and China are the biggest long term rivals, but also with the lowest chance of engaging them in a "hot" war. ISIS and Iran are the more immediate threats, but their influence is on a more regional scale. And North Korea is a wild card.

I don't think Russia will turn to communism under Putin. Putin cares about one thing and that's himself and his position. He could care less about ideology unless it would help him. The vibe I get from Putin is that of a mafia boss whose survived several internal conflicts to remain on top, or maybe a Frank Underwood type looking for power, but not a revolutionary. Maybe an authoritarian regime but not necessarily a communistic one.
I think Russia and China are more like frenemies then allies. What drives their relationship is personal gain and a desire to counterbalance us.
And like I said North Korea is a wild card that no country completely trusts. From what I've read even China is taking steps to distance themselves away from them. The change over to the new regime has been rough, and I think that's made the PRC uneasy.
I tend to have this 'Game of Thrones' mentality when I think about Geopolitics. Nothing but moves and countermoves.

You're right. Although, the persons who do exactly that, do so in order to insult or offend. There is really no other reason to insist on addressing a transgender in a manner inconsistent to their intended looks. Do you happen to have a link for that particular legislation establishing this fine?

We are in a time to be concerned about domestic terrorism. Although the Middle East may be where the external focus is, better watch home, organized crime, sovereign citizens, narco gangs.

Strategically, China's moves in the South China Sea and in regards to economic espionage are of great concern. The South China Sea contains vast resources and is astride some of the busiest trade routes in the world. Their organized theft of intellectual property is on an unprecedented scale and costs America billions, if not trillions of dollars. Were they to make a call in the national debt, we could not pay. Overnight the dollar would collapse.
I do think the administration has paid some attention to the issue, but they have not hit on something effective to contain China or make some of these activities unprofitable.
