Which political party historically does a better job of taking care of Soldiers and their benefits?

In my humble observations over the years I've come to see that both parties claim whatever they like in order to appeal to their target demographic or constituency. However it has been individuals and circumstances that have done the most for the military. That old whole love us when we are needed forget and overlook us when we are not deal.
