Who are you without your rank before your name?

The Call Me Mister - That is not a rank but a title of respect that I learned and earned from my Parents.

I am a True Professional that has worked his way through College both undergraduate and graduate to help out my parents and my Brother and Sisters allowing them to continue on and go to College. I passed this on to my Three Sons and they are doing the same. Upon Graduating with undergraduate degree I was able to join the Army without a rank as a PVT and working my way up thru the ranks as a Mustang finally reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retiring with more than 32 years service to our great country in addition to nearly eight years as a Department of the Army Civilian. I am proud of what I have done and continue to do to help other Veterans requiring help with challenges that the have with the Veterans Administration.

My shipmates still refer to me as "Yo" or "Yeoman" as that was my job title. But other than that, I really don't get asked much about what rank I was when I was in the Navy. So I'm pretty much just plain old Don.

Without my rank huh? Without it I am just Matt. I'm a quiet Christian who tries to be there for people when they need it and likes movies, video games, cars and plenty of other things. I'm not extremely social outside of my closest friends and family so most of the time especially here in MO my co-workers really don't see me outside of work often if at all. I'm usually either at my apartment doing my own things, at Church when I can make it, or on the road burning gas going no-where just to see where I end up. It's good times.

Before, during and after I have always been "Chip" A Techie, A Geek, Now a Grandfather of 5 Oldest being 12 and taller than her Dad. My Legal first name is nothing more than a Title that lots of others before me and those that followed carry. Bad Tempered Old Kraut, Hoodlum from the Streets of Cincinnati. Inquisitive, Intelligent, Probably Borderline Asperger's. Loyal Ally and Friend. Student of History that chose to Make History for 20 years. As a communicator I am known by my "Chop" of KC or Casey. Son of 2 Lay Ministers in the Catholic Church, Son of an Artist with the KC Art Institute and Author of "Self and Community" the workbook for Projects for Children in Catholic Sunday School. Talented Troubleshooter of Telecommunications and Electronic equipment.

I tell people now, "I'm Lonnie, I was Lonnie before I enlisted and I'm still Lonnie now that I'm retired".
