I am Me without my rank before my name. When my rank was before my name, I actually was looked upon as crazy, retarted, etc... The rank the USMC bestowed upon me never did make me what or who I was, but my creator, God Almighty, Jesus the Christ, created me to be who I am today.

Rank is nothing... Especially when it is used to trample the people below you.

Whoever would promote any individual without considering the LEADERSHIP implication should not be in a position to determine the character of another. Rank only applies when smell has overridden good judgement.

Pedro Meza, which is interesting because in majority of my work outside the US, I always used name and only used rank in places where rank was favored.

Who am I without my rank before my name? I am a Husband, I am a Father. And I am a funny sarcastic individual.

Thank for reminding me that the ex-wives had expletives before my name; I went from Honey to *****************************************, quite long name too.

CPT Pedro Meza - I wonder sometimes, even to this day, what names my ex wife has for me.

ILL TELL YOU WHO I AM! WITH OR WITHOUT A RANK IN FRONT OF MY NAME IS NOTHING. RANL REPRESENTS THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS I HAVE DONE AND THE AUTHORITY REPRESENTATION OF MY RANK. BEING CALLED SOLDIER IS DEMEANING AND BELITTLING
WHY DONT YOU CALL ME BY MY NAME WITH MY RANK WHATS IT HURTING?

The other thing that I noticed is that in the military we are leaders and constantly give our subordinates credit for the success we receive when mission is accomplished. When transitioning it was a shift in mindset and I still struggle with it today to explain what I personally contributed to the goal such as I directed the activity of a staff of 7, I was the leader on a 4 month project which we finished ahead of schedule and within budget.
