So I was thinking about this after researching for another post, in Heartbreak Ridge Gunny Highway has some great one liners, funny, but not intended to be. Same is true of Gunny Hartman in Full Metal Jacket. So RPers, who do you think is more unintentionally funny

I think the coffee pot scene is funniest. I always laugh at that one.

I love both movies.
My favorite line by far from Full Metal Jacket is "I will motivate you, Pyle! If it short-dicks every cannibal in the Congo!". There's no way for me to watch that without laughing.

Gunny Hartman reminds me of the DI's that I had. They would say things in a serious manner that would come out funny.

For me this is easy I have to support the prior service Soldier and MOH recipient Gunny Highway. Got to love Hollywood heroes, both great movies.

LTC Jason Bartlett
The character played by Eastwood received the Medal of Honor for his actions in the U.S. Army during Korean War, he later went on to join the Marines along with his buddy SGM Chozhoo.

PO3 Steven Sherrill hands down Clint Eastwood as Gunnery Sergeant Highway displays many of the characteristics which have propelled him to be both a great actor and a cultural icon. His dry wit and deftly using both visual gags like throwing the radio, breaking the pool cue, etc. with his dry wit.

What a great question...Highway by a mile. Hartman is well, frankly just terrifying in his blatant bad-arsery. There's no doubt left in the mind that he really DOES see everyone as "equally useless" and that his one mission in life is producing lethally dedicated Marines-Ultimately, he fails to see the biggest threat to his platoon and himself. Highway, by contrast, is a hard-bitten mirror image of the guys he's leading...flawed, but in poignant ways. He's trying to repair a broken relationship, manage careerist superiors, and relate to a "new" generation of Marines who think he's a "has-been". In the end, his tactics elevate his Marines and actually prepare them for the fight of their lives. The fact that he manages to do all of the above while never loosing that 'Blondie' nonchalant attitude leaves you in stitches more than tears.

Id go with Hartman because wasn't even supposed to be in the movie originally. That opening in FMJ was done on the fly. his lines are more famous than Highways
