I have had literally every social media website you could have (MySpace,Facebook,Twitter, etc.) but rally point is the only place I know where I can feel comfortable approaching any person in the armed forces. Whether that's a general or someone who just enlisted. I think it's awesome and the mobile app works great on my phone. Your thoughts?

I like it. I joined awhile ago but have only gotten active in the past couple of months. Hoping to see how it could be used as a great resource for the entire SMVF community. Definitely enjoy the discussions (well, most of them anyway) and it's pretty cool to connect with lots of brothers and sisters.

The internet actually has changed my life and rallypoint is part of that ongoing continuing experience. Back in 1994 after I got out of basic training it was on all places American online military chat room that got me squared away with getting me into officer candidate School in the California Army National Guard because my military police unit did not tell me there was a symposium at the base where I was training at. Those officers who helped me get in the foot-in-the-door I ended up meeting them later coincidentally in an armor unit in San Bernardino years later. Fast forward 21 years and now this medium of rallypoint is actually very informative an even better way. I have a friend who is going in a 15-6 investigation and I posted the situation rallypoint and now I have a warrant officer helping my friend out with the timelines to make sure his command is in compliance. Besides joking around and showing funny videos or showing famous movie clips we can actually talk serious issues and at the same time learn about the other branches through these posts of History or things in general. Rally Point has been an invaluable tool for me to learn about other services that is beneficial along with command and general staff off Common Core course I completed a year ago. I have learned to communicate with some of you who I have had the honor of serving with either in a unit a school or down range in Afghanistan way before rallypoint was even formed period it's been an honor to listen and learn from all of you. Thank you.

I do ,for all the reasons I find posted on this site and selfishly because I'm an old guy and we just love anyone who listens to us,seriously it's one of the few places on social media I feel comfortable relating my past experiences,no make that the only one!

SGT Ronnie Warford Rally Point has destroyed my quest for recreational reading! I remain surprised that 'we' have so many samplers who soon drop off-line.

I seem to use it more than Facebook or other social media. I like the military camaraderie and thoughtful discussions. The mobile site, though improving, still lags a little.

There is less drama and more actual conversation here.
