I am all about helping the military in any form or shape and was curious who here is a lifetime VFW member Like I am. Did you ever think about becoming a VFW member or have helped the VFW

I am and have been for the past 10 years. I do what I can to help out my fellow vets, whether it is lending an ear or passing out buddy poppies. We all need to stick together. Began as a member of the Redmond, Oregon post, don't remember the number. Thinking of transferring to the Klamath Falls post.

SSG Bruce Fischbach I have heard of the Life Legacy. But have no members in my Post with it. What are the benefits? We have never discussed it there. Would it benefit my children or my post?

Lifetime member at large. Need to settle down at my local post and increase my involvement with fellow veterans!

Roger that MSgt, the unfortunate part of being a 'member at large' is that you essentially have no vote at the local post and cannot take an office.

I am a life member of the VFW. I can't say I hand out poppies - my current position often prevents my being able to commit the time. However, I advocate for veterans daily. I have been known to drive indigent vets to local doctors (up to 50 miles one way) and I help vets in any way possible. Of course, as a VFW member if I am aware of an active duty member in distress I do my part and present the situation at the appropriate time. Ditto for fellow vets. Brotherhood is a life long task.

I am a Life Member and want to become a Legacy Life member. I have also been Adjutant for the Post and Secretary for the Corp at the same time. I have also done Poppies but not this year. I do volunteer at the Poker Nights and the Honor Guard.

Lifetime member of the VFW since 2006. My father, talked took me to a VFW in Florida before I joined, and I found out I could when I returned for Saudi Arabia in 97. I did not join until 2003. Then I went to Korea which was icing on the cake for the VFW. I joined the post in Hampton VA, and now I am with the post in Manchester, CT. Joining the VFW allows you to connect with personnel from all eras and you can learn things as well as get the help you need since the VFW has the connections.

Are you talking about the Phoebus VFW right outside Fort Monroe? I spent some time in there around the same time. I was stationed at Fort Monroe and it was a great place to hangout have cheap beers and mingle with the old timers.

I was in post 5500 in Hampton. We did not have a post hall. I did visit the Phoebus post for a training session.

I was an annual member for a few years..then I renewed as a lifetime member. VFW does good stuff for vets...they deserve the support.
