Of the authors you've read, who would be your favorite? And do you have a favorite book from this author?

For me it would be John C. Maxwell, and I like his book "Everyone Communicates; Few Connect."

John Le Care', the creator of George Smiley the ultimate low key cold war spy master, and so very many other unforgettable characters that helped forge who I have become today.

As to the very best of the Vietnam novels "Dispatches" by Michael Herr. One of the very few true combat correspondents who went out and chased down the real war to be the voice of the line troops. He and Gustav Hasford "The 13th valley" were instrumental in the script for "Full Metal Jacket"

The 13th valley and dispatches were sort of rolled together to make Full metal jacket, I don't believe it was its own movie.

Charles Shultz, he was great. His stuff was pretty deep. My second one I read their work just about daily. It is the Army Publishing Directorate. They just keep coming out with so many good books. The new new 670-1 was an instant classic.

It depends, for military books I like to read autobiographies from the veteran's themselves. But if we're talking about just regular fiction books I gotta say I've always been a fan of John Steinbeck.

To me, they are all great and they each have their own lane...okay Virgil is the first great plagiarist taking Homer's two works and basically combining them in his, but they did make the transition between fiction and history?

Dean Koontz. The Odd Thomas series is what I like best, but all his books are good!
