I have found yet another fake here. Danny Erickson. I think I am getting good at this. But when you see a person claiming to be an SF officer you would expect them to provide a better story than this. This fake has been in since Somalia and is still a CPT. But don’t worry. He has also been in Hollywood working with the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers. But he still had time to hit just about every conflict in the past few decades. He should have at least one star on his CIB if not 2 stars. I love how he went to Alpha base at Benning. I guess I wasn't cool enough to be there. And to do all of this as a CPT, pretty impressive.

This comes from his own Bio. This bio was supposedly developed from an interview in 1995. Please excuse the grammer. This reporter couldn’t seem to find a single period in this essay on how awesome Danny was.
1. His Mother had once shot for them ,the quickly Sponsored Denny and Archery Became just as if not more Important than Martial Arts and Gymnastics which was Great because at 9 years old He had Reached 150lbs and 5'4" Which for a 9 year old was pretty large
2. By Sophmore year Denny Was Already being bussed to William Rainey Harper College to start Gen Ed and Law Enforcement Classes , at 17 he Opted to Enlist On the Concurrent Enrollment Option Basic and AIT while finishing his Degree in Business Admin With Minor in Law Enforcement Studies ,He Graduated AIT 2nd Lt. And Was Sent to Alpha Camp outside Ft.Benning Ga, and then Fort Cambell Ky, 101st ABN Air Assault ,75th Ranger Training Corps.
3. The Then Very Green 2nd Lt. Was Deployed to Kuwait and then to Panama then Back to Saudi ,Kuwait and Afghanistan . Upon Visiting Home He was Offered Work as a Martial Arts Stunts Trainer for MMPR by an acquaintance starring in the show , for the next few years arranging his leave around the filming schedules .
4. After reporting back to the Army during a routine Halo with Canine Insertion Jump , Denny Sustained a Career ending Injury , Broken Neck C5-7 and T6-10 .
5. Den Erickson was a Martial Arts And Tactical Instructor For DOD/DOJ in the Midwest ,Recently Specializing In Canine Deployment . Teaches Krav Maga , Holds an 8th Dan Shotokan Karate ( Rank Of Kyoshi) Practices Kyujutsu /Kyudo (Japanese Archery) Fought MMA in His Youth To Keep His Edge ,was often Disqualified for Being too Aggressive, the Fights Had with Oleg Taktarov and Dan Severn Among his Best were Draws with MMA in its infancy was not legal in most states at the time .

If you go to his IMDb page you can read the whole thing but if he takes it down you can still read it in the photos.

I think the allure for claiming to be any type of Special Forces, at least from the AFSOC units I've worked with, is that you don't have to give specifics to what you did, simply because of the nature of "Special" Forces, inherently. It alleviates most of the problems with coming up with convincing lies, since no one can corroborate what you say if they didn't have "clearance" to know about your op in the first place. It automatically places them at an advantage to shirk small details that can get fudged in "cover stories", especially when it's something that any current or former AD can detect as being wrong right off the bat, like uniform violations, SOPs, base names, etc.

Because they’re bad asses and if you’re gonna MSU … Go big I suppose. Personally I find these frauds too pathetic to concern myself. Unless they are trying to claim benefits they didn't earn (which would be fraud), I say fine ... go about your sad life. Most SF guys I've met, I'd have never known were SF had they not been in uniform or their very proud wives told me. One attorneys in my wife's office who I met a couple of times ... not a peep from him but I did notice the ring. He never brings it up so neither do I.

Bench press 600 + and squat 1,000 + at age 17, we should be "honored" to have such a Marvel super hero on our side. Can you imagine fighting against him ?? Our 82nd, 101st, 75th, all SF and Seals teams COMBINED wouldn't stand a chance.
The boy is simply frustrated with his meaningless life, so brings his fantasies to life

I bench pressed 120 once. Well, is was actually only 60, but I did it twice so I count it as 120.
Just kidding guys.
I never understood how bench pressing is a sign on greatness. There has to be a better statistic to use than that.

Yeah what the Hell? Yeah I know it sounds Cool and Impressive but being a Navy Spook is Cool and Impressive too. I'm almost broken hearted that none have tried Sporting the Spark and Quill. I got some Awesome Sea Stories. To quote an Officer I've listened too before "You think 007 is Cool? I AM 007" LCDR Montel Williams on the DC School Lecture Circuit (More correctly we are Q which means we get to play with the coolest toys).

MSG Dan Castaneda - That is pretty wicked. I still remember the Conversation I had with a Chief Seal at NTTC Pensacola at the Chow Hall, He kept bragging me up telling me how cool he Thought Us CTs were and I'm just slack jawed looked at the Trident over his pocket. The SEALs I knew were Pretty Quiet Self Effacing Dudes that I thought the World Of.

I know a cook, whose mess section was overrun in Vietnam, he defended his kitchen, got a BSM with V. He even told our CO when I didn't eat at his mess section...this man could have been a chef, and no Platoon Leader would dare not to eat his food. He could even make cherry cobbler from canned cherries, that would equal your mother's.

"The first Ever in the State of Illinois To Squat over 1000# let alone in sets ,then Popping down into the splits to garner attention from the Ladies ." This right here was beautiful to read. I didn't realize women were impressed by a man squatting into the splits XD

PFC (Join to see), SSG Richard Reilly - It's so over the top, you have to wonder if he isn't actually trolling all of us. It seems that he would have to actually be familiar with military service to craft a narrative that is so consistently absurd.

Isn't it odd, that the groups you attend at the VA...everyone was a door gunner! I heard there are more men claiming to be Vietnam vets than the actual number of those who went to Nam!

Most likely because they have so little knowledge of the military they fall back to titles they see in movies and quick internet searches. Plus given secrecy involved with SOF in general it's harder for others to verify claims. As several have pointed out, if you are going to steal valor, why claim to have been in a position no one knows about.

You make a great point. I never thought about that. I wonder if people were claiming to be water purifiers after that Polly Shore movie.

Lots of Nigerian SF imposters. Read some of the Nigerian leave scams, they are quite comical, and at the same time sad, because too many women (men?) fall for this and send them money
