Why do you spend time here instead of another social media page? Why ask questions here instead of a heavily followed military/service page on Facebook? Why is Rally Point awesome even though you tend to speak more formally here? Please elaborate.

Too much BS from people I don't want to BS with. It may be a bit more formal here but we're among family - family that gets each other. And you don't have to explain to anyone why uncle Lou has a wooden leg and Nana has blue hair.

I actually learn something from people on Rally Point. Rally Point members are respectful but not afraid to disagree with me and encourage me to learn and grow.

I find myself on RP more then Facebook. For old dogs that still need the conversation with fellow veterans RP fills the bill. The advice is great and helping the younger folks makes you glad you can be of assistance. The brother and sisterhood are alive and well on Rally Point.

Hey, why bother with Facebook again anyway? I don't have an account, nor care for one. I've been doing just great without it! Besides, my wife is a bit 'insecure' and I wouldn't want her to feel any more 'suspicious' by having any other social networks that I hardly have time for anyway

I use Facebook to keep in touch with my grand daughters in DC. My son is stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. So its a great way to communicate with them.
