Why do you spend time here instead of another social media page? Why ask questions here instead of a heavily followed military/service page on Facebook? Why is Rally Point awesome even though you tend to speak more formally here? Please elaborate.

And everyone . . . Stay Awesome!

This is a great forum to discuss military issues outside of the sphere of influence of the military without having to explain just about every word that comes out of my mouth.  When I'm with a mixed crowd, invariably the Army folks bore the pants off the folks who don't understand.  This is a closer knit community of brothers and sister than the Facebook.

Very simple, it's because of the better interaction between everyone. RallyPoint is a unique tool for both those currently serving and those who are not. While you hit a larger audience with Facebook, not everyone there served. Therefore, they simply don't understand us the way we understand each other here. RallyPoint is a safe haven to share ideas, seek guidance and to connect with fellow brothers and sisters-in-arms. You just can't find that type of support from a page on Facebook followed by thousands of people.

Too much of everything on other social sites. I play games more often than socialize, even family. Rally Point, on the other hand, I always have something to say when it comes to military matters and I don't have to deal with a lot of the bull I see on Facebook (like videos that are disturbing or religious messages). Plus, it is a lot more respectable and I can actually poke fun without offending.

If I am discussing matters of military, it is a substantially inferior conversation with people who are not military. Rallypoint affords the opportunity for like minded individuals to share information, ideas and fraternity, usually at a professional level.

I chose other, to include all of the above. The other is quality of conversation. I find the conversation on RallyPoint to be from a perspective you cannot get from the general population. The military perspective, and being in contact with all service members, not just Marines, is awesome.

If it were not for keeping in touch with my daughter and other family members, I would delete my FB account.

Also to try and find members I served with that I have lost contact with that maybe are on this site. Also to be involved in some discussions that draw my interest.

I do some Networking and Marketing on the civilian side. This website is a professional atmosphere where I can gain valuable contacts that I can use later on in life or business.

For the most part civil and informed dialogue is respected and appreciated on RP. I have learned much from my peers and in a much more entertaining way.
