Why does a shaving profile project a negative outlook on an individual?

Years ago i had my skin burned from highly polluted water and now i just cannot shave to save my life lol. My thing is why do i get treated differently because i have a permanent shaving profile? Im never in trouble and never chewed up but why am i looked at as if i am ?

Because the shaving profile is exploited and not properly followed by 90% of those who get them.
The amount of times I've seen shaving profiles that instead of being a patch here or there and is instead cut close with a blade, lined up like one is getting ready for a night out just ruins it for those who actually need a shaving profile.

....and shaving profile soldiers stick out in a formation, or on their own. The which one of these is not like the other rule of military attention giving is evoked.
I have never been in a unit where I or my SR NCO was not questioned at length about a shaving profile of one of my Joes. How long is it? When was it reviewed last? What is the underlying condition? etc etc.
Is electrolysis an option for you SGT (Join to see) ?

LTC Jason Mackay - At the ripe old age of 45, I developed an allergy to wool. Break out in hives and lungs get all congested if I touch the stuff. Guess what the old berets were made of? yup, wool. As far as I know, I was the only soldier in the AL ARNG who had a "beret waiver". Talk about standing out in a formation and taking a lot of crap. Always carried a copy of the waiver in my pocket. The only good thing is that it did get me out of standing in quite a few change of command ceremonies and other sundry dog and pony shows because the CO didn't want one guy in a PC messing up the uniformity of his formation. lol

LTC (Join to see) - No berets and none of those old wool blankets for you! I don't know if that's being luck or not. LOL!
It's so odd when you develop new allergies as you get older huh? Last year my wife nearly died eating her favorite fruit, a peach. About 3-4 years ago, out of nowhere I would develop a histamine reaction to cold. Cold! And what's worse, I live in frickin' Minnesota! It gets cold up here for 5 months out of the year! FML!

LTC (Join to see) do they make berets in poly viscose? You see that in kilts. Wool kilts not fun

Because the Army is to have a clean shaven appearance at all times. And those that can't shave due to profile are seen by some as a bad thing (because many of them have an outdated "old school" thought process) and viewed by others with envy. As long as you keep it within the regs and profile standards....I personally don't care.

the same reason guys with profiles are looked at like dirtbags just because they can't run 2 miles in 13 minutes?

CW3 (Join to see) - I always barely passed my run - I could max pushups and sit ups though. I was looked at as a dirt bag for my run time but they seemed to ignore that I never had issues Rucking or shooting. Never could figure out why it mattered so much since I was always in the S1 and there really wasn't ever a need to run fast! I guarantee I could manage your HR like no-one else, I just would never be the first on a run.

Right there with you. I’ll ruck all day long and out ruck many PT studs, but put me on a track running and I look horrible. I’m just not a runner. Now if people want to throw on some battle rattle and do a couple laps we can see how we stack up LTC (Join to see)
