I guess I have a hard time understanding why it seems Liberals hate voter ID so much when you must have an ID to board a plane, cash a check, use food stamps, enter certain buildings or events. You cant drive, buy Cigarettes or beer or even use a credit card in most place. So why the push back on Voter ID if its not for something illegal ?

C'mon, we all know it is to suppress the minorities that are unable to get the necessary documents. OR, it is the other side that is trying to open the gates for all the illegals to vote unimpeded, that nrmally vote Democrat. Your choice, depending on which side of the argument you are on.

In the past (1960's and earlier), many strategies were used to actually suppress minority blocks voting rights by both parties, particularly southern Democrats and New England Democrats. These blocks are hyper-sensitive to anything that might carry the "stink" of voter suppression, whether the stink is real or not. The Democrats know that. Democrats have seized it as a false flag to help secure the votes of those minority blocks.

Democrats successfully re-branded republicans as the anti-civil rights party. Don't get me wrong. The Republicans were not entirely blameless in that rebranding. LBJ could not have overcome the resistance to the CIVIL RIGHTS act in his own party. The Republicans were the party that eventually pushed the ball over the line. They broke the Democrat filibuster, and over 80% in both houses voted for the civil rights act. Low to mid 60% for the Democrats.

Many issue by issue polls show that African-Americans tend to identify more with the Republican Party on social issues that are considered the territory of conservatives. But the "anti-civil rights stink" makes many minorities party voters instead of issue voters. If the Republicans want to capture the vote of minorities, they need to take the wind out of these false flag arguments by going even further to make sure every voter is registered.

It's been my experience that those who scream the loudest against a new law/rule/policy/etc are usually the worst offenders of said new law/rule/policy/etc.

I agree. It just shocks me of the flimsy reasons they use to argue against it.
