We all know Putin's MO on the world stage by now. But what should America do in the likely event that Russia invades Ukraine? Will Biden truly commit to a shooting war with Russia, or will he fall back on a Sanctions only approach to the issue?

All the pontification in the world does not justify Putins angry. Bottom line is he will go until someone stops him. He saw the weakness in Biden and NATO and took advantage of the situation to attempt a reunification of all that was the Soviet Union at one time. The world either works to stop him or become his Bitch.

Putin recognizes he has only to show strength and Biden will back down. Biden is weak and a coward. He has allowed Putin to threaten the world with nuclear retaliation and Biden bent a knee to the threat. Putin is not just interested in reunification of the old Soviet Union but domination of the world by the Soviet Union. Ukraine is just another domino.

I hope not. The gall of this administration to commit triyps to anywhere, after they completely FUBARed Afghanistan is astounding.
Who cares, Russia is corrupt, Ukraine is corrupt. They only reason Biden wants in, is because Ukraine is his sugar-daddy.

Putin has already sent troops over the border and Biden has mentioned sanctions only. There will be no war that the US is involved in.

Putin has basically pulled a stunt that NATO perfected in the Balkans, we just recognized every breakaway Republic from Yugoslavia. I don't see any support for a war in the Ukraine except with all the War Hawks that never saw a place they couldn't make money by getting the US to intervene.

CPT Lawrence Cable - agreed. I hope we can provide them with war goods. Too bad the Orange Mussolini fired LtC Vindman instead of withholding military aid from Ukraine.

There have been comparisons done between Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Taiwan. To be truthful, each one is different. With that said, there are also a number of similarities. I have not seen anybody draw a parallel between Ukraine and Korea, or Kuwait. There are similarities to those situations, as well.

There are a lot of people who say that Putin has "put his foot into it" and with good reason. Your military move can be considered a blunder if you are criticized for it even by Switzerland.

Some option might exit, here. One: Emergency entry into the EU. Two: Emergency entry into NATO. That should give Putin pause. Three: International Peacekeeping forces from the UN (the UN has already condemned Russia's actions).

The best action by the US would be to do what we do best: The US should use its enormous industrial power to supply Ukraine. (Kind of like a Berlin Airlift, only bigger...and, yes, we can). The Ukrainian people are proving to be quite plucky and determined. US support could tip the balance.

Three things that can be seen from space: China's Great Wall. Egypt's Great Pyramids. Volodymyr Zelensky's balls.

They'll just impose useless sanctions and act like did something.... They know China would use that opportunity to invade taiwan and north Korea would attack South Korea and japan...

LTC Eugene Chu - The Western Press just seems to ignore the part about the Ethnic Russian Separatist that are extremely Pro-Russian and are the political majority in those regions. Like I said about, Putin just pulled what NATO did in the Balkans, he recognized a breakaway republic just like we did in the Balkans. I expect China to follow suit in the next couple of days if for no other reason than to piss us off.

I highly doubt he will be put off by any sanctions. It's pretty obvious there's something about Ukraine that he wants and therefore, invaded. I can't imagine him being hesitant about invading anywhere.

If sanctions against Russia are to have any effect, they should effectively destroy the Russian economy. Anything less will be laughed at.

If we couldn’t win a WAR in Afghanistan, how the f:?$ are we supposed to fight Russia. These fat little civilian hogs in this country are in no way as patriotic as I was when I joined the Marines in the early 70’s. When you have to get permission to fire on a target from 20 different A-holes, you have already lost the WAR. We don’t have the GUTS it takes to win WARS anymore. It’s PATHETIC!
