You would not deploy..........unless they really really REALLY needed you. Upon completion of AIT, you will simply join the Rear Detachment element of your unit.

MAJ Ken Landgren - Yep, my thoughts too, by time a USAR soldier spun up to deploy all he'd be able to do once he got there is help pack the planes and join them for the flight home.

Typically, no. Especially when in the NG or Reserve. You would join the rear det or rear detachment and fall in with the soldiers when they come back. Shortly after graduating, you should be in contact with someone in the rear detachment about when to show up and if you deploy or not.

"Probably" not ... you'll likely get orders to their home base in the U.S., or if they have a base location overseas NOT in a combat area like Germany..

Hello! This is a question you can ask your Rear Detachment Commander (those individuals left back at Command Headquarters) most likely you will not! Thank you!

Depends on your CO. FYI if it were me I would readily invite the deployment. It has been my experience that deployment fosters not only skill enhancement but quicker promotion (Hint).

Hard to say.
Last time I was deployed, it come down on coms for the section chiefs to all report to the TOC.
Our chief came back with a brand new private.
The battery got 6 new privates fresh out of AIT and the rear d sent them up with about a month left of the deployment.
BN Commander and CSM wanted 100% available manpower on the deployment. People with profiles were even out there, they were in the rear, but out there.
