I am starting an Application to become a 153A a Rotary Wing Aviator, I have found the Checklists and have an Idea of what I need to do to get started. Im wondering if there are any Active Flight Warrants who would be willing to help me with the process or at least be willing to point me in the right direction?

Find out when the next Warrant Officer Briefing is and attend it. It's about an hour long and they will provide you with a fairly good explaination on everything regarding the packet. I didn't attend one until I was nearly complete with my packet, but I did learn a couple things that helped me out. The NCO also reviewed my packet and pointed out small things that I should fix (remember that attention to detail is everything).

If you don't already have a GT over 110, go sign up for BSEP now and get it out of the way. Start studying for the SIFT too. It's fairly similar to the ASVAB, just tailored more towards Aviation. There are plenty of study guides online that you can use or you can buy one off of Amazon. Chances are the school or location that administers the SIFT is backed up, so be sure to call at the very beginning of a new month to schedule the test as it is a first come first serve for signing up. I ended up waiting about 45 days after calling just to take the test.

Also, get the process started on your security clearance if you don't already have one. You need at least a Secret to be an Avaitor. The proces can be very long for some people. Mine took around 18 months to clear from the time I joined the Army.

If you're stationed at Bragg, I'd be more than happy to help you out. I was recently selected in January so I still have all my paperwork and a fresh memory of everything that needed to be done.

What is on the website for WOCS packet submission is what’s required. You shouldn’t need help unless you are asking for an LOR. It will pay off in the long run if you can do your own research without asking others to assist you.

The best thing to do is reach out to senior aviators. Even if you’re not in an aviation unit you’re going to need letters of recommendation from senior aviators for your packet. There’s also a pdf floating around that has everything you need. I made a book. When I took the AFAST I even had practice tests in there. After a couple weeks I was able to master the complex movement subtest finishing all 30 of them and only missed one. I don’t know if it’s changed since 2010, but DA PAM 611-256-2 helps with the way the test is setup.

The packet itself is easy enough. You’ll end up making a checklist and doing the things on your list. You can get a sample packet from the senior aviator you talk to or look on the army study guide site. What one of my senior aviators (a CW4 Battalion MTP) told me was that putting the packet together is in and of itself something of a test. It weeds out the lazy people. The only reason I didn’t make it was getting injured in OIF 09-10. I had a permanent profile for running (had to take an alternate pt test). Aeromed told me that it was fine for flight school, but not for WOCS. I worked to get off the profile most of the deployment, but ended up finding out I had cancer after I got back in 2011. Kind of killed the dream right then and there.

I can only make a suggestion as I have previously on the same topic since I am heading that route myself shortly. The checklist is the start point, ensuring your GT matches up correctly for going Warrant Officer, Having you flight physical done, making sure you go like by line by line, if they tell you to spell “something” Like “SomEthIng” just do it. What I mean is follow the instructions to the T. This is your chance to show your ability to adapt and be versatile on your own. Your essay has to be squared away make sure you review it more then 3 times until you finally feel confident in it and then have someone else review it (preferable from you chain of command) Once you complete all the above and have your package/packet squared away and you need to find a Warrant Officer to give you an interview, this is the most important step I believe in this process, and that’s getting out to your closest Army Base w/ Aviation unit attached, and make a professional face to face. Foot work!! Ask yourself how bad do you really want this?
