Absolutely, If we kick it off again I would raise my hand. It's a major mistake if we do but if Marines are there I'd fight with my brothers again.

Yes, if I were still in the army it is part of being a soldier to serve in foreign countries, but I volunteered for many conflict areas but was sent to Europe every time for support.

Volunteered in 2005 for an Armor BN Military Transition Team (MiTT). Not making that mistake again after seeing our blood, sweat and tears potentially for not.

Yes, I would. Combat it combat no matter where you go. In the military, that is our job. I would go.

Where do I sign up. I may be old but I can still squeeze a trigger and hit a target, moving or stationary.

ABSOLUTELY ...IF the mission was CLEARLY STATED...we were INVITED by the majority of the people - part of a WORLD WIDE EFFORT and an exit strategy was in place...this pissing away 20-30-40 years as an autonomous peacekeeping force is antiquated and no longer accepted by the world. IN ADDITION the people of Iraq MUST be willing participants and play a huge role in taking back their country. Our role should be paralleled only as aggressive as the participation of the People of Iraq themselves. you give me 100% you get 100% you give me 15% WE'RE OUTTA HERE!!

I applaud your comments Sgt S.P. Woodke these are my sentiment exactly. The UN and NATO are useless organizations unable to live up to the pacts that have been signed by all member nation.

The people of Iraq in my opinion are shell shocked and entitled, with very little in the way of being able to clearly define what they want. The sectarian violence in this region goes back a long time and was exacerbated when the region was divided after WWI. It is a conundrum that we should not go in unless we are asked to help, and yet if they do not know they NEED the help we find ourselves facing a totalitarian government. I agree with your statment Sgt S.P. Woodke Except that the people of Iraq have been pawns for far to long to be able to take an active part in their own defense and nation building. They remain the victim in their own story.

At this stage in my career, I'd volunteer for both since I've haven't been. I would love to compare it to Afghanistan

Careful what you wish for. You might run into administration again. Except this time they speak Arabic and shoot at you

Meh, they'd stick me back on a submarine again before letting me do something fun. Also, I know how to say carrot cake in Arabic, you should listen to it on Google translate
