Thanks to many great member suggestions and requests, RallyPoint is putting on our first ever RallyPoint Conference: RPx 2014!
RPx 2014 will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina on SATURDAY, August 16th. It will be an incredibly fun and engaging event with great speakers, a new product announcement, networking events, and an Awards Show with dinner. The Awards Show will be hosted by SSG Robert Burns, and the Master of Ceremonies throughout the day will be SSG Kevin McCulley, both long time RallyPoint members.
Please use this discussion thread to ask questions, suggest additional events, and recommend specific award categories for our Award Show (dinner is included). The award categories and nomination process will be announced in the coming weeks.
There is a discount for Blue Ribbon members, E-1 through E-5, and full time students. Tickets and more information are available here:

World famous is fine - it is the infamous version that carries certain risks...

I am VERY disappointed that I didn't get to see this tiara.... if you even remembered to bring it, SSG V. Michelle Woods.

This is great, I just can't say enough good things about this idea! I'm sure that so many good things will come from this, and I really hope this will evolve into a popular and productive annual event. Having been part of a team in the past that was comprised almost entirely of geographically separated units, I can attest to the power of an annual gathering to foster teaming, and develop professional relationships... outstanding concept, I'm absolutely certain will translate to even more great things to come!

SGT Welsh, thanks for asking, I will definitely be there in spirit, as far as in person this year, that remains up-in-the air as it looks like family will be coming up to visit right around this time. I'm sure that this will be a success, and will hopefully it become an annual event, so if I'm not able to make it this year you can count me in on future RPx events; I hope you all have a great time, I look forward to seeing some epic photos and stories from this year's event!

Will there be music? I could get an Army band, a or jazz combo or DJ. Someone let me know and I'll submit the request. We could do a proper dining out with Colors posted and a grog bowl.

I am pretty sure I will be there. I found it extremely surprising that this is in my back yard. On a side note, I grew up in California and thought casual was sandals and board shorts, glad I didn't show up in that. I am also glad it is not in uniform. I would have saluted a 1LT and a brawl would ensue for sure. Looking forward to such an event.

I intend on going for sure and really need to. Only obstacles financial possibly, but looking great as of now :). I've spent zero time on East Coast, so I'm happy you gave me new place to explore! How far from DC? I need to go there, top on my list now!

Or a 5 hour AMTRAK trip! Who takes trains these days though? I did for nostalgia's sake from Fort Bragg up to DC...never again!

No certainties, but if all goes well, I'll be there, too! (I have an ALC class around that time and need to check the dates)
I just wonder if masks are allowed, as I like to hide my pic.

SSG Burns won't be able to hide behind his quick witted keyboard come backs. Let's see how he does in person!

LOL That would be awesome! 200 people sitting around a hotel ballroom, faces buried in their laptops, posting comments to the guy across the table from them!

I think I plan to attend. Come say hi. Might even bring some local Cintas Partners.
If there's an employer panel, I could share some experiences, common issues in recruiting/hiring, and a better understanding of overall employment.

I am willing to help sit on an employer panel for transitioning soldiers looking to move into government contracting. Can answer some clearance issues too.
